I think this is THE best compliment a bookish person could ever get. To turn a reader on to something you loved is all we ever really want….sharing our love of these stories with the masses.
When you talk about your books your whole face lights up and it sounds like a parent talking about her children (I actually got to hear this from an old friend)
Don’t know about that, but don’t you just hate it when someone looks at your books, collected over many years, & says “have you actually read them all?””
I think the best compliment is having company who brings tea or coffee with nibbles just to sit and read at your house and then watching them build up their own library. It speaks about their thinking process and how you are a part of it. I know…I’m odd! 😉
I absolutely hate sports. I took a book to my nephew’s football game. He got upset that I was reading. I told him he should have been paying attention to the game and not watching me. He’s 10yrs old. I saw most of the game but I do not understand it.
“jeez u have too many books”,”since i see u reading everytime, why dont u try doing something else like being social?theres a world ot there yano?”(i get that alot from my school mates but its a compliment haha,”i wish i could be a booklover like u”,”u read too much!”,”u knw there r a lot of things to do besides reading right?”
I love your book collection ?
I read this because you recommended it! I’ll read anything you recommend now!
I basically said that to my best friend Jessica after reading the first book in the Fever series by KMM
Yes! ?

“I’ll do dinner tonight hun, you just read your book because you need it”….me…totally oblivious to the world around me anyways ????
“Did you get so smart by reading tons of books or were you born that way?”
Bookshelf goals!!!
When you get books as birthday present, and as Christmas presents by all your family haha

“Doesn’t that bore you?”
Also, when I am talking about the book and my friends are “??”
I love your bookshelves..
My ex use to say that I could sum up every book with enthusiasm and I’m a way that made him think he read the book himself and enjoyed it.
Books made you a nice person.
Don’t know about that, but don’t you just hate it when someone looks at your books, collected over many years, & says “have you actually read them all?””
Or they go like ‘you’re never gonna finish that in a thousand lifetimes’ when those are books you’ve already finished reading.
Wow you certainly understand distpoian society and the potential outcomes of the end of the world!
“I envy you being able to read everything you want. I wish I had time to read as much as you do.”
When people ask for recommendations for their children knowing that I know books.
I think the best compliment is having company who brings tea or coffee with nibbles just to sit and read at your house and then watching them build up their own library. It speaks about their thinking process and how you are a part of it. I know…I’m odd! 😉
“That book looks good” or “you seem really interested in that book”
books as gifts
Wow! You have a lot of books.
“You inspired me to read more.” My cousin told me that last month.
“You’re such a nerd!”
Do you do anything besides read? Not on purpose.
Is that all you do is read? How do you have enough time to read?
“I loved the book you recommend , can you recommend other books for me !”
??
Haha. I always get this one from my husband. ” more books! You dont even read them” or when he sees me reading “are you crying again” ??
And at my son’s soccer games. Some of the moms. “You always reading, we dont have time to read like you, nice” ?❤
