Just finished A Year of Magical Thinking and Russian Roulette today. I’m staring Wolf Hollow, a Newberry Honor Book. It had been compared to To Kill a Mockingbird.
I buy my books at the Burbank thrift store at .99 each, so I take what they offer. Just finished Graham Greene’s, The Quiet American. I found Tom Wolfe’s ‘A Man in Full’ (742 pages). But I think I’ll read Michael Connolly’s ‘The Concrete Blond,’ first. (Work my way up to Wolfe’s book.) A sprint before the marathon.
I am reading The Gurnsey literary and Potato Peel pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows which I am really enjoying, and also The Mountain between us by Charles Martin also enjoying. Coincidentally these are both books that have been made into films! One I have seen and one I am looking forward to immensely. ?
