Pir-e-Kamil (The Perfect Mentor) by Umera Ahmed
Oh I need to read Urdu books in the summer. Would you send me some more recommendations please?
@Mona Er.. I don’t read urdu books. This was a rare occasion ?. But from the ones I’ve read, حماقتیں by Shafeeq ur Rahman is a really humorous and amazing book. As mentioned above Pir-e-Kamil is a beautiful life changing book. Its sequel, Aab e Hayat is also amazing though I have yet to read it. I think that’s it.
Can you please suggest me some good urdu books you’ve read since I’ve clearly read very few? ?
نمل، مصحف & جنت ک پتے
All by nimra Ahmed are all amazing books that have been suggested to me.I’ll read them in the summer breaks hopefully.
@Fatima thank you! I haven’t read any ?. Actually, I’ve studied Urdu as a second language uptil now. I’m good at that, but literature or poetry isn’t part of the course. And now I’m moving back for college so I need get to that level. That’s why, summer goals are to read lots of Urdu books, poetry included.
@Mona Same here. Studied urdu as a second language. Studying in an English medium from the very start, I got lots of practice with English and English books are all I’ve read but sadly not much of urdu. It’s a bit difficult at first and I’m really slow but I’ll try.
Yahh? and I only read English and now books in my native language. Besides I read for escapism so I love action and amazing adventures, but books that are only focused on relationships with people? Not so much. Not very good at it lol.
I have only ever leaked a couple tears for one book and it wasn’t because it was said. It was because something happened that was so sweet. And it was the second book to moon chosen
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS
The Book Thief. The first book I read that made me cry.
The only books to date that have made me cry have been The Book Thief, The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent Trilogy, My Sister’s Keeper, Me Before You, Feed by Mira Grant, and Partials (the whole sequence) by Dan Wells. We’ll see how many others make it on to this list 🙂
@Sara Me Before You kinda killed me for like a day after I finished it.
Man Called Ove
I have several, but the most recent was Counting by Sevens.
Where the red ferns grow
@Chelsey omg that book killed me as a kid?I kept rereading it though?
We Were Liars
Denielle Underwood E. Lockhart’s books are amazing. I read Genuine Fraud earlier this year and that book also had a huge plot twist that was so unexpected but it made so much sense
I’m not exactly sure about her other books but I have high expectations and I plan to read them within this next year
Kingdom of ash broke my heart and soul
SPOLIERS
12/13 died!!! Abraxos’ mate died!! Gavriel died!!! That is way enough loss for me. They may not have been major characters but it still hit home like a nuc
heartless and the bird and the blade
tell the wolves I’m home …I cried the whole time
The shack
@Adam that was a hard one to read!
It’s so good though
The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare. All throughout Clockwork Princess ?
A monster calls
The Book Thief, pretty much every Nicholas Sparks book.
Dusty made me weep like a child. The Bronze Horseman too.
City of heavenly fire I think made me cry the most.
Touched by a Horse
Song of Achilles had me bawling and I’m not usually a book crier
The storyteller by Antonia Michaelis. Hands down the saddest book i have ever read or will ever read
My Sister’s Keeper
@Mary , on the plane just sobbing.
The Hunger Games, all three books
The Host
The Lunar Chronicles all four books
City of Heavenly Fire
Summer Sisters
The most memorable cry fest I’ve had with a book is when Dumbledore died in Harry Potter…I gave myself a migraine crying. I cry at everything though so it’s hard to say which made me cry the most.
God’s and Monsters by Jamie Marie
The Chaos of Standing Still by Jessica Brody. The main character is funny, but her emotions are so intense. A weird combination: laughing and crying, but this is what this book did to me
Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas. Just the build up to this book from the other books in the series. Opening the book every emotion just punches you in the face within like 2 chapters. The final 10 chapters had me balling tho.
Night by Elie Wiesel (sorry if I spelt it wrong). It was so hard to keep going because I could hardly see with so much tears in my eyes
Same but what an amazing journey. I can’t imagine.
Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt – probably wasn’t a good idea to finish during lunch when students are coming in the next hour. If ever there was a kid that needed a home like that, I would take him in to give him a home.
Most of Kingdom of Ash but the end of Shadowsong had me in tears too
I cried so hard during Eliza and her Monsters. Full on ugly crying. Also in The Book Thief (okay, heart breaking again just thinking of it)
Guy Gavriel Kay The Fionavar Tapestry
Either my sister’s keeper or harry Potter and the deathly hallows.
My sister’s keeper was more of a shock because I had already seen the movie. ?? But i cried more with deathly hallows because Hedwig, dobby, tonks, remus and Fred. ???
Vampire academy series can’t remember which book
Shattered love by Stacey Marie Brown.
All the Bright Places really did it for me :'(
Kingdom Of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

Code name verity had me sobbing multiple times.
Insurgent from the Divergent series hehe
The book Thief
fault in our stars
OMG I have a story about The Fault in Our Stars…Bare with me…[Spoilers] So I was watching the movie and it was the part in the Anne Frank house where she was going up the ladder into the attic and my husband comes in and I’m bawling my eyes out and he goes this could only be more depressing if there was an amputee and I blubber…he doesn’t have a leg!!! My husband just shook his head and closed the door lol.
Midnight Star by Marie Lu.
Red queen… I shipped mareven with my heart
Some kind of courage
Thousand boy kisses!
