Sycamore by Bryn Chancellor, Tess of the d’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Notes From An Exhibition by Patrick Gale, Carrie by Stephen King. I found Villette by Charlotte Brontë incredibly sad as well.
This one was heart wrenching because it’s a true story by the wife of actor Paul Michael Glaser ( The original Starsky Of Tv’s Starskey and Hutch). She contracted HIV from a blood transfusion and unknowingly passed it on to her infant daughter. It’s well written, and will make you ugly cry for sure.
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Fair warning, it’s a Christian book, but I don’t know anyone who’s read it – man or woman – who hasn’t bawled their eyes out
Steady As the Snow Falls by Lindy Zart. Not an emotional person usually, but that book made me ugly-cry lol.. Also, Wuthering Heights, didn’t exactly made me cry, but I felt gloomy for weeks after reading it
