To remind myself of why I loved/hated the book. My memory goes fuzzy on the details after several years. And also to recommend the books I loved to others 😀
Last time before I start writing a book review, I love to verbally share my thoughts about books that I have read and this has inspired me to leave a review for every book that I have read.
If I loved it and want others to know.i almost never leave a bad review. I can’t even bring myself to give anything less than 3 stars. If it’s less than 3, I didn’t finish it and so I don’t rate it at all.
I leave reviews more so for myself. I’m not the greatest about remembering specifics about books, so I write reviews that would prompt me to remember things.
When I’m moved to say something. When a book is dreadful, I need to tell someone how awful it was. And when a book is amazing, I need to tell someone all about it.
We indies appreciate them! As a reader, it depends. For other indies, I write constructive critiques with suggestions on improving weak areas and praising strong points. With general trad published works, I’ll omit the suggestions. They have paid editors as such for those things.
I try to review all books. As an author, I know how important they are. But I do struggle if we don’t like a book. It’s hard to leave a constructive review.
It’s said that there is a bee for every flower, so I will not poo all over another author’s work. Each to their own. I will leave reviews or ratings for books I liked, so that others with similar tastes to mine are encouraged to read these treasures.
Wanting to share my opinion with others
Because the book was that good or that bad?
@Reyna depends on the book usually if I love a book though
I always try to write a review on books, or at least rate it. I try and write them so it can give others an idea if they want to read it.

For indie authors, reviews mean a lot. So, I post my reviews.

Depends on how I felt about the book

I’ve only left 2 reviews. They are both new authors and I truly loved the stories. I wanted to help the authors in their journeys.

I only leave reviews for REALLY good books or REALLY bad ones. There’s no in between ?
Me too!
Ditto
I leave reviews for books I love, the kind of books that make me want to stalk the author so I can get the next book in the series sooner ?
