@Thomg the crazy Rich Asians is not something I would normally pick, but I’ve read a lot of heavy/sad books this summer and fall and definitely needed something light and fun. I’m reading the first one and the absurdity of the wealth described is so ridiculous that I’ve literally been laughing out loud. When one character mentions the amount of money she spends on her yearly wardrobe, and it was as much as my husband’s entire salary, I busted up. ?
Yes that is what I am hoping for too. I am also hoping for a book of poetry by recent native-American poets called New Poets of Native Nations edited by Heid E Erdrich.
I know I’m getting Crawdads Beartown From Beirut to Jerusalem, a forty year old Thomas Friedman examination of the Middle East, and The Three Little Pigs. The last one troubles me. I have no clue why. It cost $8 at Amazon. We can’t afford such frivolity here. My spirits are already falling.
I’d like to have about every single book Amazon keeps sending me the ads for, that are only on Kindle when the truth is I only read the paper kind of books. The ads & pictures are always so interesting but when I look for the books they are electronic only. Bummer! I do know it’s part of belonging to the 21st century but I don’t have to give up the items I love … yet. ? Merry Christmas! ?
The Chicago Architecture Foundation published a graphic novel to teach teens about the importance of urban planning. I’ve been hoping for that one for a couple of years. I admire everything the CAF does. For some reason, they don’t sell it through Amazon.

@Janet I asked my husband to get it for me!
That one for me, too!
