By the Book, Overdue, Binge Mode Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, Potterless. (As you can see there’s a bit of a theme to my podcast listening haha)
It depends on which podcast you listen to as to what is discussed. By the Book is where two women read a self help book and follow the instructions “by the book” for 2 full weeks and then talk about if it changed their life or not. Overdue is two dudes discussing a book they’ve been meaning to read for years but never got around to until now. I like to listen to podcasts mostly for the entertainment value. The host personalities are very much a part of a good podcast and also I learn about new books I might want to read.
The History of English podcast is wonderful…it’s more a mix of language and history but books are obviously mentioned quite a bit, especially when he gets to Old English. it’s a fantastic podcast to listen to if you wonder why English is full of weird spelling, silent letters, and exceptions to rules?

What do these podcasts do? Just basically a book discussion like in high school?
