@Jean , I’ve sold hundreds of dollars of used and surplus books of all kinds there in the past two years. The buyer pays postage, so every dollar is profit. I don’t know what kind of experience you’ve had there, but it must have been bad.
@Charles you have to pay a monthly fee to sell books though? Or so I’ve been told. I wouldn’t make anything on the books if that’s the case. I only have about 15 to sell.
@Eric , I don’t buy books to resell. I sell books that I have accumulated over the years and have purged from my library… old textbooks, cookbooks, “coffee table books”, hard cover novels that I no longer want… I put a low price on them so they sell quickly in most cases.
Most used-book shops will buy books for a small amount of money if they need them to increase their stock. My local shop also will give book credit instead of cash for the purchase of books from the shop. I use that option because they give 25% more for credit than what they would for cash.
Unfortunately, I don’t even bother trying to sell my unwanted books. Facebook is a no-go, too many flaky people. And it’s not worth setting up an account online somewhere to sell them. I just donate them to the library or the Salvation Army.
Facebook marketplace?
@Valerie I’ve tried that. No luck.
Abebooks
@Cheri' doesn’t look like they’re buying any of the books I’m looking to sell
Amazon… I’ve used it successfully for years.

@Charles it’s too expensive to sell just a few books on

@Charles do you have a wholesale license?
@Eric , I don’t sell as a business, just as an individual. There are no fees for that kind of account.
I was wondering of you had a wholesale license to buy the books cheaper. I’m looking into getting mine, just wondering if it’s worth the money.

I’m having the same issue… it’s annoying. Lol
Facebook Marketplace might be a good option too
@Jordan I’ve tried it. No luck

@Lysa I usually sell them to a used bookstore but I don’t plan to go there until February. I figured I might try to get some sold before then.
@Jean I don’t have any near me that do that. It’s a bit frustrating
@Lysa my closest one is Half Price Books and it’s like 40 minutes away. Wish they were closer ?
You can give books away (if you’ve given up trying to sell them) at @Cozy. Also. FREE BOOKS for anyone willing to pay shipping. 🙂
@Kimberlee that group basically sounds like a Facebook version of http://paperbackswap.com/ ?
https://www.bookcrossing.com/ ?
