Old Man’s War is a fun one too. The Martian is one of my favs if you haven’t read it.
I just finished reading The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid. It was good. I agree with the Red Rising Saga, loved those books!

Artemis (same author as The Martian). Hyperion was really good too
I liked Artemis, but it didn’t hold a candle to The Martian, IMO.
No, it was completely different! But entertaining in its own way.
Veracity by Laura Bynum. Wearing the Cape by Marion G Harmon.
Reading Snow Crash right now, pretty good so far. Recent reads I liked the Bobiverse series, Enders Game series, Ready Player One, Off to Be the Wizard. Guess it depends on what kind of scifi you are into.
Snow rash is excellent. I had to keep checking how long ago it had been written
@Sandra recommended some short stories above.
KPax by Gene Brewer. It was made into a movie starred by Kevin Spacey.
Iain M Banks. I’d start with the “Player of Games”. “Matter” has so far been my favourite of his Culture series.

Love Anne McCaffrey’s books, especially the Pern series.
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.
All Our Yesterdays by Christin Terrill.
Any book by Amie Kauffman.
I’ve been eyeing Dark Matter. Thoughts?
@Alexis loved it. The multiverse concept is one of my favorites sci-fi tropes so this was highly enjoyable. Fast-paced and unpredictable. It’s definitely worth reading!
Loved Dark Matter!
Ready Player One
The Expanse series is amazing!
How many books? The Syfy series is cool, I’m guessing the books are better?
@Alexis there are 7 in the series so far, and it looks like there will be more. And yes! If you like the show, you’ll love the books.
Older, but excellent… Isaac Asimov ‘s Foundation series, any of Larry Niven’s titles. And Ringworld…how could I forget that!
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series by Douglas Adams. So good it’s the books that got me into Sci-fi
