Morganville Vampires, Weather Warden, Iron Fey, Wicked Lovely, Chemical Garden, Penryn And The End Of Days, Uglies, Throne Of Glass, Study, Shifters, Wolves Of Mercy Falls, Fallen, Hush Hush, Soul Screamers, are all YA series/trilogies I love
Edit: argh forgot Vampire Academy And House Of Night
The Brave Story, The Diabolic Series, Grisha Series, Children of Blood and Bone Trilogy, Vampire Academy, Poison Study Series, Chaos Walking Series, Abhorsen Series, Red Queen Series, The Illumimae Files, The Merciless Series, and The Cinder Chronicles!!! Im mostly into YA too!
My 11 year old and I just finished The Children of the New Forest. We both loved the story. It is historical fiction. Apparently the BBC has made a series (mini?) out of it.
My favorite book in high school was This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen and I still like to reread it every once in awhile. And I love all of John Green’s books but haven’t read his newest.
Some of the best teen reads I have done in a while have been: The Agony of Bun O’keefe – Heather Smith (I can’t recommend this one enough!!!!!!!!) The Hate U Give- Angie Thomas(this one should be self explanatory) The Gentlemans Guide To Vice & Virtue – Mackenzi Lee(I LOVE this book) Girl Mans Up – ME Girard (rare to find butch lesbian YA, and so good!) Allegedly – Tiffany JAckson Beauty Queens – Libba Bray (I was CRYING laughing on every page) Simon/Unrequited – Becky Albertalli Queens of Geek – Jen Wilde Eliza & Her Monsters – Francesca Zappia Moxie – Jennifer Matthieu Gabi, a girl in pieces – Isabel Quintero
Colleen Hoover has some I think would be considered Y.A and they are so good!!! Try November 9 or Confess. Or one that is much more steamy in the bedroom is Ugly Love. They are really great reads!
First 5 were better in my opinion with the exception of 2nd book. I think the second series needed a little bit of something more also didn’t have the same feel
@Sean yeah. Chaninging it to third person and introducing so many new characters was part of the problem. I feel the quests are bogged down with too many hurdles to get over that are just there to beef out the book rather than for a legitimate story moment. The first five are perfection.
Tell Me Three Things, Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, One of Us Is Lying, Turtles All the Way Down, Eleanor & Park, We Were Liars, and Every Day. Wonder is classified for even younger readers but I loved it, too! Love them all and I’m def nowhere near YA age. Actually, my youngest is almost out of YA age range. 🙂
The Sin Eaters Daughter by Melissa Salisbury. Mind Games by Teri Terry. The Rest of us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness. One by Sarah Crossan. Showstopper by Hayley Barker. Broken Sky series by L.A.Weatherly. My Sister Lives on the Mantlepiece by Annabel Pitcher. Noughts and Crosses Malorie Blackman. My favourite YA book in the world is My Name is Mina by David Almond.
We were liars…I read it twice because of the twist in the end. Everything made completely different sense second time around. Book clubbed it with a group of high school girls and they LOVED it.
It really is one that needs a second read. I just never saw the end coming. I saw everything so different the second time yet didn’t feel like it was ruined because I knew the end. Just a different perspective throughout. Good writing and great reading.
A Court of Thorns and Roses, This Mortal coil, anything by Cassandra Clare, Anna and the French kiss, I’ll give you the sun, Caraval, Fangirl and 180 Seconds are some of my absolute favourites!
Eleanor and Park, All The Bright Places, You Know Me Well, Looking For Alaska, The Serpent King. Also YA Fantasy -The Rithmatist ( like read this immediately) and the “Study ” trilogy by Maria V Snyder, starting with Poison Study
We (my teenage daughters and I) loved we were liars, all the bright places but also for something completely different read replica, preferably the physical version! We also liked the first 2 divergent books
The rising storm by Ceri Lowe. Hemlock Jones and the Angel of Death by Justin Caroll . Thirteen reasons why by Jay Asher. Richelle Mead her books are vampire style and good.
Fantasy? The heku series was awesome as well as the grey wolves. Pretty much anything by Quinn Loftis. She puts a level of humor. Richelle mead is also great. The blood decendent series, the relentless series. I have plenty more if you need more ideas. Yes i like vampires and shifter series. Morgan Rice is also pretty good
Have you read All The Bright Places? I loved it.

Great!!! It’s so good and so sad. It’s one of my favorites.
Read ‘more happy than not’ if you’re a fan!
Do you like more contemporary or.more fantasy?
More contemporary but I’m not against fantasy lol
I didn’t even know that we were liars was considered YA. I loved it.
I suppose it doesn’t much matter. To me, a good book is a good book, however it’s classified.
Chronicles of Ancient Darkness’ by Michelle Paver ?
Strange the dreamer by Laini Taylor
Morganville Vampires, Weather Warden, Iron Fey, Wicked Lovely, Chemical Garden, Penryn And The End Of Days, Uglies, Throne Of Glass, Study, Shifters, Wolves Of Mercy Falls, Fallen, Hush Hush, Soul Screamers, are all YA series/trilogies I love

@Sean i am halfway through the mark of athena. Finding the second lot of five harder to get through but absolutely love the first five.
First 5 were better in my opinion with the exception of 2nd book. I think the second series needed a little bit of something more also didn’t have the same feel

The concept was interesting the mix of Greek and Roman parts but in execution didn’t work as well as i was hoping

The Way I Live Now by Meg Rosoff
Beautiful Disaster
The Book Thief
The Fallen Crest Series by Tijan (And anything else she writes) Pepper Jones series by Ali Dean and The Paper Princess Series by Erin Watt
I really liked “Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares”.
Divergent Series and Hunger Games.
Try beautiful disaster, by Jamie McGuire, then read walking disaster. It is the same story from the point of view of two different characters.
