So a few weeks ago I posted I was going to read clockwork series…. I didn’t really like it ?. It was all so predictable except a couple bits. There was no real depth to the story… Ok on to something else. Any recommendations.
The Hollows series by Kim Harrison or Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.
@Christopher Kate Daniels sounds interesting
@Brandi Kate Daniels & Mercy Thompson are on the top of my list. (Urban Fantasy) I’d also add Terry Pratchette’s Discworld for humor & satire. Naomi Novik‘s Uprooted & Spinning Silver for Russian Folklore style fantasy.
@Nancy I didn’t like mercy Thompson book. I couldn’t get past first book. Was just ok nothing to deep. I got it in audio. And my mind kept wondering off. It couldn’t hold my attention.
@Charlotte The first book in both MT & KD series are not the best offerings. I started the series with later books not realizing they were series. Then read the earlier books later. I had your problem with the Dresden files – the first book was too depressing for me but I enjoyed the later books from the series.
@Nancy I loved “Uprooted” wish there were more fantasy novels like it.
@Rick I though Spinning Silver was “almost” as good.
Recently I really enjoyed the cruel prince and wicked king but the third book isn’t out yet. Also looking through my kindle I must have enjoyed the Rylee Adamson books by Shannon Mayer since I bought all 9 of them!
I’m reading @Kalayna, Alex Craft series. It’s really good!!
I’m currently reading The Belles, which is a YA Fantasy. I’m not very far into it, but it’s my bookclub’s series of the month.
I always recommend Trudi Canavan for all things fantasy. ?
@Kari the Belle’s by who
@Brandi
@Kari cover is pretty
The whole book is gorgeous. The dust jacket it at home, or I would snap a photo for you.
Think im going to give it a try sounds interesting
@Kari I’m looking at Trudi’s books they sounds interesting as well are there several series of hers
@Brandi Trudi Canavan’s newest series (Millennium Rule) is incomplete. Book 4 is due next year. ?
I started with The Black Magician series. But my favorite is The Age of Five Trilogy.
The Belles map!
@Kari ok
One of my very favorite series along with Lightbringer and I can’t wait til Burning White this fall!
Kings of the Wyld and Bloody Rose are awesome. Easy, fairly quick reads and a ton of humor.
I agree
