Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Yay or Nay?
Big big yay
Yay but sometimes nay , other times ughh , but yay took the most of it
First 2 books are okay but the rest NAY..
I wanna know why the Nays? I haven’t started it yet but I have the first book
For me the main character was shallow and annoying, all characters were bland (except for the younger brother) and it seemed to ‘borrow’ from a lot of popular YA books. I didn’t enjoy the first book one bit :/
Nay… but I remember liking the writing
nay nay nay
Yay Editing: should have made this into a poll and turned off commenting so you have a better count of the Yay and Nay, just a helpful opinion
Nope, so not worth it!
I hated it. So repetitive. It was like a cut and paste job from various YA books ?
I’ve only read the first two books and the short stories collection. Every time I’ve gone in with low expectations and found myself pleasantly surprised so far!
lol you didn’t like it?
Not really. I found it too predictable
Yay. You’re gonna get a lot of mixed reactions. A lot of people didn’t like it but a lot of people do.
yeah i just sorted through the comment section and yours tipped the scale
Oh nice ?
Not sure if it was worth it or not…
YAY Red Queen was AWESOME got a little annoyed at the second book, Glass Sword but then the third, King’s Cage is LIT . Haven’t read the fourth yet, War Storm!
Yay if you like typical YA tropes. Easy read.
I liked the first three books just fine but the last one was a huge letdown. If you can stomach bad endings then yay. There’ll be a collection of novellas tho. Hopefully it’ll make the ending more bearable.
thanks, the bad ending thing changes everything
@Phương it’s not that bad. The books are quite slow but entertaining.
ughhh i was about to say the same thing !!!!!
It was entertaining enough.
NAY. Definitely nay. First book is great and then you waste your time with the next 3 and feel severely dissapointed by the end. Waste of time. -_-
Oh no… so many nays and I just ordered the first two books in this series 🙁 good thing book outlet is cheap I guess..
that bad? I mean the comment section is super mixed and I’m truly confused.
Yes. Especially love book 1.
I’m in the middle. There were parts I really enjoyed, and others that I really didn’t like. And I really didn’t like the ending.
Yay yay yay. Do it!
It went downhill after the first book for me… so nay.
Nay! Book 1 was cliche but enjoyable, and the rest were just awful.
Nay, the ending to the series is awful and so not worth reading all four books.
Nay. Didn’t finish the series.
I still haven’t finished book 4 and I started it a few months ago -.- 😀 1-3 were nice though
Only read the first book which was awesome but I was a bit disappointed by the ending. Tried to read the second book but just couldnt get into it.
real big yay
If you want a potentially amazing book series that ends with a frustrating ending then that’s your book. Along with the divergent series.
Nay. Book 1 was alright but Book 2 was so boring I haven’t continued with the series yet.
Nay. The first book is great but the other three that follow are so boring. I dnf’d the final book because I just couldn’t get into it. I flicked through to the end and hated it. A lot of the characters seemed to change personalities throughout the books too and yeah… I won’t continue haha
@Hayley I was so excited for War Storm and then I tried to start it and found myself having to go back and reread a lot because I was spacing out so much. I have yet to pick it up again.
@Sydney I was the same. Some chapters were unnecessary too. It’s a shame because it could have been a great series
While I love the series, I had some issues with War Storm. Like I felt Iris’ pov chapters were kind of pointless. I really only read it for Evangeline
@Hayley right? From what I’ve read about it… it’s made a lot of people quite angry.
@Leigh Iris wasn’t needed at all I don’t think. I liked Evangeline in the first book but as it went on they changed her personality
Sydney Branson yeah the ending was so… After everything that happened it was like really haha
I loved the series!
Sorry, a no from me.
It’s fine, don’t really feel strongly either way.
I didn’t like it. I enjoyed the first book a little bit but after that I thought they were terrible.
Ehh, honestly if you dont think while reading it and just let the story take you it’s pretty good. If you think too hard or analyze you’ll hate it
the first one is good, it pulls you in, but as you go further in the sequel the MC gets on your nerve… i think ^^
Yay, one of my favorite
Nay. It’s every YA cliche rolled into one series.
Nay, DNF’ed it
@Laurie what does DNF’ed mean?
@Zoie did not finish
@Laurie thank you.
nay. DNF after the first three chapters
@Sarah I managed to get halfway through, but only because it was for a book club.
It’s high fantasy meets future dystopian. I liked it.
Yes with bells
First one yay. The 3rd/4th were ehhh
