I really loved the changes! It completely subverts what we already know about Pet Sematary and creates a totally new viewing experience. I wish the Zelda scenes had been as scary as they were in the original, though…
Yeah ngl when I saw the trailer I was a bit turned off by the changes but since there’s so many positive reviews I may just try to clear my mind of what bugs me and go see it ?
Okay STORY TIME! My mom was given Pet Sematary after her sister — God rest her soul — raved about it and gave it to her to read. My mom halfway through took it outside, layed it in the driveway, lit a match, and sat it on fire. She says it was the evilest, most devilish book she has ever read and she sent it back to where it came. I once checked the book out from the library and had to return it 15 minutes later because my mom “would not allow Satan’s book in her house PERIOD.” ??? She loves reading other books besides Stephen Kings. ???
I thought it was awful lol. Also, in 2019 can we stop fucking use Native Americans and our cultures as props, while simultaneously dismissing our stories as stupid folklore. K thanks bye
Okay so I really didn’t enjoy it. I haven’t read the book (I know I’m ashamed at myself too) but after watching the film really don’t want to read the book. I thought the movie was mediocre at best and so predictable! Although looking through some comments I’m guessing they’ve made changes in the movie, so is the book still worth reading?
@Ellyn I was disappointed in the film but the book was amazing! I felt that the movie lacked character development and didn’t focus much on atmosphere. That being said John Lithgow was great!
I thought the remake was horrible. Dont let the movie keep you from reading the book. The book was great and one of the easier Stephen King books to read
The book is definitely worth it; it’s a bit predictable (and reading King’s Introduction gives away plot points) but I think the plot alone is so terrifying that the progression & unfolding of the story in the book isn’t really an issue in my opinion
I absolutely hated it. It did the book zero justice and even as a standalone movie (as in, not even having a book with it), I still thought it was horrible. Bad jump scares, bad ending, bad everything
I enjoyed it but there were so many changes! It annoyed me especially the ending lol
@Kara true. I thought it was good

@Kaylyn the ending bugged me too lol
It was good but I love the original movie so much! It’s so scary!
80 pages to finish the book! Hoping to see it tomorrow!??
I agree. Really enjoyed it!
I can’t wait to see it AND read the book!

@Rihanna-Nicole Now this makes me want to read it even MORE!
@Rihanna-Nicole I can totally picture my mom acting like that if she ever read the book. Fortunately I doubt she’s ever going to ?
I wonder if I should read the book beforehand ? but I did hear the movie was good!!
@Marian book was better imo
i liked the ending of the movie waaay better than the book, honestly. that kinda shit is like something i would write!

Yes, didn’t like the film at all, but the book is one of my favourites.
