I agree. The book to me gave me insight into Vietnam vets. My brother was one, and suffered from PTSD. He would never talk about Vietnam. He got paranoid after having a major heart attack, the government was trying to kill the veteran. I watched the movie platoon after reading the book and have a new respect and understanding. I lost my brother a year ago. Forever my hero
I agree with you. In the last 5 years of his life, people would thank him for his service, and on veterans day, the restaurants would give vests free supper. Im glad he got to experience that before he died.
Just finished reading it last night. I am not normally a fan of books that make me “break out the tissues” but this was the exception. Personally, I could not or would not be able to live off the land in the wilds of Alaska, some of their practices are a bit graphic. It’s an extremely hard life, but these people choose to live as minimalists, “off the grid”, as they say. If you haven’t read it yet, you need to put it near the top of your TBR pile!
Reading this now.
???????? OMG. Yes. I’m listening to it on audio
That’s being nice…..
I agree, you are being nice !
Finished yesterday. This is a great book!
Yess!!!
I wanted to kill him. I would have easily.
I have other words for him but….
If I were able to kill someone, it would be him.
