Need a heart wrenching book. Like Crawdads, Home For Unwanted Girls, The Promise of Stardust.
I’m looking for a really great heart wrenching book. I loved Crawdads, Home For Unwanted Girls, The Promise of Stardust. Not a historical fiction fan. Please help me find something I can drown in.
I’m currently reading ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas
@Kayla good book
These two were awesome as well!
Loved Crawdads! Try – This is how it always is. It was really good!

John Steinbeck The Red Pony. I had to stop reading it I was so upset. I still don’t know how it ends ( not well, knowing Steinbeck)
Ordinary Grace
An absolute favourite of mine this year.
@Mary Author?
@Sherri Author?
Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger
@Mary Thank you
I just finished A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult and it was great! I have been “off” her books for a while because I was tired of the format where each chapter is in a different character’s voice but this book wasn’t written like this. In fact, it’s written in reverse order which is a bit confusing but a great concept! Finished it in a couple of days!
I did not like this one very much
??
Only child
The History of Love
The Dogs of Babel
Both get me every time
This is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel was one of the most gut wrenching books that I’ve ever read.
Hearts Invisible Furies
The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls by Anton Disclafani. I love this book
Beartown
Winter’s Bone by Daniel Woodrell. And I just saw it was made into a well-rated movie in 2010.
That was the movie that made Jennifer Lawrence a star!
It’s an amazing movie!!!
And another one … Euphoria by Lily King. I think we have the same taste in books.
@Cheryl Very good!
