@Sherry it’s been on my tbr list for a while. I buy from charity shops mainly so it takes time to find a certain book at times. I’ve got plenty to read in meantime ??
Just read it again for my book group. The other ladies hadn’t read it – they all loved it. Classic!! (Though I have to say, I read it first when in my 20’s; now, much older and wiser, I absolutely HATED Max de Winter! How we change! ?)
The King James Version of the Bible. It’s one of the biggest influences on modern English ever. Purists interested in Pre-Reformation books can try the Douay-Rheims Bible. Genesis, Exodus, I & II Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Judges, Elijah, Ezekiel, Ruth, Esther, The Gospels, Acts, Epistles, and, alas, Revelation.
To Kill A Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, Grapes of Wrath. I’m probably showing my age here.
