What kind of love stories do you like? Georgette Heyer for instance wrote lots of stories set in regency England like The Talisman Ring, Cotillion, Reluctant Widow, etc. Mary Stewart wrote some good romantic suspensers set in various countries – Madam, Will You Talk? in France for instance, and This Rough Magic on Corfu, Airs Above the Ground in Austria. Elizabeth Peters also wrote some amusing romantic suspensers set abroad – Legend in Green Velvet in Scotland for instance, and Dead Sea Cipher in the Holy Land. Sophie Kinsella is a contemporary english author of modern romances set in England, my favourite is Undomestic Goddess.
I also love Outlander. I’m halfway through the 2nd book, and haven’t seen any of it on TV. The holidays are cutting into my reading time, and it’s a little frustrating. Oh how I love this story!!
@Marsha yes I’m frustrated about that too, relatives staying, not enough reading time. I started the tv show and watched parts that I’ve read. It’s just as addictive
Santa Cruz looked like here a bit (same street trees and house architecture)., mind you this was years ago and even then it was hard to get a visa for a stopover.
