Love Greek mythology but haven’t picked it up in a while. Anything to recommend? Read Percy Jackson but looking for something more adult.

I’m planning to read Circe & The Song of Achilles
@Emma-May yes to both of these! ??
@Emma-May agreed. The Song idle Achilles was so so good!
@Emma-May Yes to Circe! (See my post!)
@Emma-May i was just about to post these two ❤️ enjoy—they are both so beautifully written
Oh my gosh YES, Circe!!!! I cannot sing the praises of that book enoughm
Up for this! Hoping to get more recommendations!
A Touch of Gold is retelling if the King Midas myth. It’s my book published by HarperCollins about the cursed daughter of King Midas who has deadly gold powers and faces pirates and betrayers on her quest to retrieve her father’s stolen gold.
I feel like maybe Neil Gaiman has one, but I’m blanking on the name.
Circe and Song of Achilles, as previously recommended.
Meg Cabot has a YA Persephone retelling called Abandon.
Happy reading!
@Annie American Gods! But not so much of a focus on Greek mythology
@Annie American Gods is great, but not a lot of Greek mythology like Shobs said! More Norse and African Gods/Goddesses.
Ahh, yes! Thank you!
Gods Behaving Badly, if you like your gods funny and modern.
oooo this sounds fun
@Emma-May It was!! All the Greek gods living together in a townhouse and getting their poor new housekeeper into all sorts of crap in her relationship. Anything else would be spoilers but it’s an easy, funny, engaging read. Like nothing else I’ve read. Highly recommended.
You should check out the myths and legends podcast super interesting!
Thank you for asking this for me!
Troy by Adèle Geras
Mythology by Edith Hamilton. Definitely not like the other books mentioned, but I thought it was still a fun read, lol
The Song of Achilles ?
Circe!
Mythos by Stephen fry
I just read Circe last month and loved it so much!!!!
I recommended this before but The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood is a retelling of Penelope and Odysseus. Excellent storytelling!

Gameboard of the gods by Richelle mead
And the WEBTOON lore olympus by Rachel Smythe

for non-fiction: i really loved bettany hughes book on helen (helen of troy: goddess, princess, whore)
Zeus grants stupid wishes…. it’s a hilarious retelling of a lot of different myths 10/10
Mythos and heroes by Stephen fry are brilliant reads.
The Song of Achilles and Circe by Madeline Miller!
@Marine could not agree more!
The Mt. Olympus Employment Agency series by R.L. Naquin!!
Following
Lovely War by Julie Berry – it’s kind of a retelling of multiple love stories narrated by Aphrodite during WWI.

Gate keeps son by Eva pohler

Goddess of spring by pc cast —it’s a romance though so if you don’t like that steer clear
Has anyone mentioned Til We Have Faces yet by CS Lewis? It’s a retelling of the Cupid/Psyche myth.
@Bethany didn’t know this was a thing!!
@Gaby it was his last novel, and I think if you don’t know a CS Lewis scholar (like I did when I read it), you might not hear about it as it isn’t as widely known as his Chronicles of Narnia books.
I really liked starcrossed dreamless and goddess ❤️
Just finished Circe, and holy moly it’s amazing!
