I didn’t read it until I was 61. I loved it, and regretted that I didn’t read it when I was 13, after having had a course on the Civil Rights Movement.
Enjoy Watchers if that is what Koontz you are reading. That was my first Dean Koontz read many years ago, a great book. I read serious books but Dean is an amazing story teller.
What did you think of Uncle Tom’s Cabin? I did a major project on it in college about how much actual anti-slavery action was brought about by the novel (quite a bit).
of course, you need to remember that it is a product of the times and that it was written by a white woman. I enjoyed the stories written by Frederick Douglass more, because he lived it.
@Valerie Douglass was an excellent writer and, apparently, an incredible speaker. I’ve read his writings and enjoyed just the quality of the writing aside from the content.
I have been reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin intermittently for about 6 months and just cant seem to get into it. I am not quite half done. Is it worth going through the effort to finish?
The Watchers is the first Dean Koontz I ever read – and one of my all time favorites! Enjoy!
Try Strangers, it’s my favorite Dean Koontz

Twilight Eyes was really good too!
Really enjoyed Twilight Eyes, and Strangers also!
I haven’t read that one.
My first Dean Koontz book was The Bad Place.
I’m a long-time Koontz fan. Lots of great ones, but my most favorite is Lightning.
I also read Uncle Tom this year.
It was great!!
Love Watchers!!
I’m reading Watchers right now. It’s so good!

Watchers is the only book, so far, that scared the pajeebies out of me.
Read The Face by Dean Koontz. It gives me the chills just thinking about it.
Just starting The Terror, but will keep The Face in mind. Not that I really want to be freaked out.
Loved it, just a good easy spooky read!
Uncle Tom’s Cabin…such a good book.
It was one of the classics that I had not read;wonderful!
@Jerry I’m glad you enjoyed it. ?

Stowe has a great impact on the way that people thought about slavery, especially those in the North.
I need to add Uncle Toms Cabin to my ever expanding to be read list.
Yes…it’s a must read. The writing was amazing
Loved Intensity. He is one of my go to authors.
I read that book a long time ago
How was Uncle Tom’s? I’ve never read it.
It’s about slavery and Tom who had to endure many hardships until his death
It’s a good read gives you an insight on how things were
of course, you need to remember that it is a product of the times and that it was written by a white woman. I enjoyed the stories written by Frederick Douglass more, because he lived it.

You’ll fall in love with Einstein.
Just read Jane Hawk series- love her
Just finished The Crooked Staircase. Such a cliffhanger ending. Wish I had waited until they were all written.
@Karen I agree- did you at least get to read the beginning of the next book in the Kindle version?
@Kit Yes I did! Hurry up Dean Koontz!
Watchers an easy poolside read? It’s scary!
Watchers is an amazing book!!
I have been reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin intermittently for about 6 months and just cant seem to get into it. I am not quite half done. Is it worth going through the effort to finish?
Just let it go
@Kit
I agree that it was a difficult read but I just had to finish it!
I think that you will be glad if you finish it.
Yes I read it years ago. Don’t let the title of the book stop you. Every good read is a good experience.
