I haven’t read a thriller in quite some time but my husband is working his way through the Lucas Davenport series by John Sandford. I think he’s on #18 or 19 now. He really likes this series. It was recommended to him by our daughter-in-law’s sister. I love that we have so many readers in our family and extended family.
I finished a thriller over the weekend – The Break Down by B.A. Paris. It was okay. I didn’t love it but I’d still like to read her book, Behind Closed Doors.
Excellent book. Maybe not a thriller, as it’s more of a “whodunnit” but still, atmospheric, suspenseful and beautifully wrought exploration of a place and attitudes.
A classic that I’ve never read – Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Loving it so far. And for you members who live in the NY area, go see the special exhibit celebrating the 200 yr anniversary of the book at the Morgan Library and Museum!
I think Salem’s Lot is a great starter book. It’s not as long as some of his other books so it’s not as big a commitment. If you enjoy it then you should consider The Stand. It was awesome. Under the Dome was another King book that I enjoyed.
@Morgan SK says that the Tommyknockers is an awful book. Apparently he wrote it while blasted out of his mind (during his coke years). I still like it, because I’m obsessed with the man, but it’s obviously not his best. He said there’s probably a good 350 page book hidden in it somewhere!
@Bron That’s what I read about it too after I finished the book. Have you read 11/22/63? I’ve been told that as a resident of Dallas I am obligated to read it.
I was reading Bram Stoker’s Dracula but I can’t get it finished before it is due so I ordered my own copy. I just turned the library copy back in today. Now I will read something lighter while I wait.
Blind side… Catherine coulter
The heart shaped Box by Joe Hill it’s not bad.
One of my favorites!
The Dry by Jane Harper.
The Hiding Place by C.J. Tudor.. Netgalley book

I just finished The Dry. Suspenseful. I liked it.
i just finished it a few minutes ago! I haven’t read a straight mystery novel for like ten years. Not bad! Didn’t fully see anything coming ?
A classic that I’ve never read – Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Loving it so far. And for you members who live in the NY area, go see the special exhibit celebrating the 200 yr anniversary of the book at the Morgan Library and Museum!

@Patricia that’s a good one but a tear jerker.
Just finished “Then She was Gone”, loved it!
Along Came A Spider & I don’t love it yet……
@Heather , don’t read Kiss the Girls. Too much sexual perversion for my taste. I investigate all Patterson novels before I read them
Just finished Lying In Wait, it was amazing!
I finished Baby Teeth and the Last Mrs. Parrish. last night. Both were quite intense. Time for a cozy mystery.
@Kim I loved Baby Teeth. I worked with 2 selective mutes so I could relate to the mother’s frustration.
@Joan and that ending! I hope they don’t try a second book. Let’s leave it creepy?
I loved Baby Teeth!!!!
Final Girls and it’s meh so far.

Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman. Couldn’t put it down…
Bird Box by Josh Malerman. I’m really enjoying it!
Reading this now! So paranoid already.
I just finished The Woman in the Window. It was just ok!
I’m about halfway through Salem’s Lot and I really enjoy it! It’s not quite on the level of The Stand but blows The Tommyknockers out of the water.
I’ve been thinking of reading this book but never read anything from him….so im debating if its a good choice to start!

@Morgan Thanks so much 🙂
@Carolyn You’re welcome!

@Morgan I have indeed! Again, not among my absolute favorites, but definitly a worthy read!
Currently reading Sometimes I Lie, and I can’t wait to leave work and finish it!
The Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena. It is wonderful!
I was reading Bram Stoker’s Dracula but I can’t get it finished before it is due so I ordered my own copy. I just turned the library copy back in today. Now I will read something lighter while I wait.
