Depends on the book. Both can be dull & boring. I find with both you need to find the right writing style & subject matter. If you get those two right you will enjoy books a lot more.
There is definitely great lit in nonfiction. Euclid’s The Elements is one of the greatest pieces of literature of the last 2,000 years. One might say it is of greater importance than the Iliad. But is it better? Well, that’s a matter of opinion I guess.
I always wonder about people who say “I don’t like fiction.” and want to ask them “Don’t you watch films? TV serials? Didn’t you like being told or read a story when you were a child?” Of course we can learn a lot from non-fiction but it seems odd to deny oneself the pleasure of story.
Depends. They ran more fact based but in fiction I read new ideas and look things up if mentioned

We probably need to define “better”
No books is better than another if it depends on the reader!!!!!!
Yes and no
They are definitely stranger than fiction.
Thanks, that’s a quick response. Wondered where the quote originated from.
@Carlton you almost said it yourself Carlton!

I don’t think any genre is “better” than any other. It all depends on your interests and your mood.
Read both, usually at the same time.
No comparison is fair, it depends on person to person. A coin has head and tail, can you compare them ?
As mentioned, it depends on the book?
No, they are just different- sometimes there seems to be a lot of fiction in biographies telling you how they felt, etc.
depends on the person reading the book. good and bad in both genres.
Depends who’s writing them
Of course not. Depends on the books.
Depends on the reader’s preference
No way!
It’s a personal choice. Luckily we have the opportunity to read either!
I like both but I know there are people that only like Non-fiction or people that only like fiction.
I think it’s totally personal preference. I prefer fiction 🙂

Agreed
I like both. I am very fond of historical fiction also.
