Depends. They ran more fact based but in fiction I read new ideas and look things up if mentioned

Depends on the book. Both can be dull & boring. I find with both you need to find the right writing style & subject matter. If you get those two right you will enjoy books a lot more.

There is definitely great lit in nonfiction. Euclid’s The Elements is one of the greatest pieces of literature of the last 2,000 years. One might say it is of greater importance than the Iliad. But is it better? Well, that’s a matter of opinion I guess.

I don’t think any genre is “better” than any other. It all depends on your interests and your mood.

No, they are just different- sometimes there seems to be a lot of fiction in biographies telling you how they felt, etc.

I always wonder about people who say “I don’t like fiction.” and want to ask them “Don’t you watch films? TV serials? Didn’t you like being told or read a story when you were a child?” Of course we can learn a lot from non-fiction but it seems odd to deny oneself the pleasure of story.
