I recommend Tara Sim, Mackenzi Lee and Natasha Pulley. They’re relatively recently published authors and their books are really good, and in the YA genre. All of them have written steampunk books, so if that’s something you like, definitely try something written by them.
Terry Fallis is a fantastic Canadian author that writes really funny books. Great characters and different story lines that I normally read but I have enjoyed all of his books that I have read.
I’m old, but a relatively new author. J. Schlenker

I’ve read two of her books so far and they’ve been great! Her third one is about to come out and I’m looking forward to it.
I recently discovered a new (to me) mystery author…Elly Griffiths. The series features Ruth Galloway, a forensic archeologist.
These are really better if you read them in order. The characters develop in each book.
Try N Marie Kane
You might want to try “The Orphans Tale”, by Pam Jenoff.???
Jandy Nelson! Rainbow Rowell! Fredrik Backman.
Just finished Manual for Cleaning Women by Lucinda Berlin. Not new but underread. Amazing.
Morgan Matson…….
Perfect for the upcoming Summer?
Try Fredrick Backman- amazing writer
