Ditto. Like his books.
Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward
Walker Percy’s The Moviegoer.
Romance called Royal Seduction by Jennifer Blake. Lots of history.
Barbara Hambly’s historical mysteries. The first one is A Free Man of Color.
Out of the easy by Rupta Sepetys is a quick read
Even though they take place in a fictional parish in Northern Louisiana, the Southern Vampire mysteries by Charlaine Harris are very fun!
I also really loved The Infinite by Nicholas Mainieri! It’s an intense but beautifully-written book about teen love in post-Katrina New Orleans
A confederacy of Dunces is hilarious!
Yes! Acod is one of my favorites!!
My friend Deanna Chase lives in NO and she writes some light reading fun books set there
Thank you. I missed that.
@Dana it wasn’t direct, but it was there. Did you find it? If not I can try again.

Julie Smith books with Talba Wallis, set in New Orleans
Anne Rice’s Vampire series.
“Dinner at Antoine’s” , an old but goody, a mystery.
Oh please read Islands Beneath the Sea, Isabel Allende’s fabulous Historical fiction story. It tells such tale of the Carribean/NOLA connection as through the slave trades. I never dreamed of this connection, it explains a lot about the rich and diverse ethnicity there. Not to mention the music and cuisine. All wrapped into a great story, it doesn’t get better than that.
That sounds like exactly what I am looking for!!
Wow sounds good to me too
The Witching Hour by Anne Rice
