I would like to read some Christian fiction (not particularly Amish) but have no idea where to start looking. Anyone have any recommendations?

I love Jan Karon’s books. Just ordered some Karen Kingsbury Baxter series. Thanks for all the great responses. I love this page!
Debbie Macomber is good. Karen kingsbury is good.
Nancy Moser writes Christian based books – I’m currently read her “Second Time Around”, which is the sequel to “Time Lottery”, but the book of hers which I liked the most was “The Seat Beside Me”. Definitely worth checking out.
If you have a kindle (or a smart phone with a kindle app) Check out Courtney Lyman
Robin Jones Gunn (Sisterchicks series) or Neta Jackson (Yada series )
@Marion – I loved Nancy Moser’s book “The Seat Beside Me”. Have read maybe 2 others by her but don’t remember the titles.
There’s another one I haven’t read @Janet, called “The Ultimatum”…need to check the library again.
Thanks @Marion

I love the Grace Chapel Inn book series. They are put out by Guidepost and have several different authors.
My mother sent me the monthly Guideposts, and somewhere in this packed apartment, I have a few Guidepost Anthologies
Are you looking for love fiction or thriller ?
Several of the Guideposts series are good. I subscribe to the Guideposts magazines as well! Great read all around!
@Mandy-either one.
Didn’t know Guideposts published books. I used to read their booklets and loved them. Must check them out. Thanks
Lori wick. Kensington chronicles and rocky mountain series. Are some of the first ones I read.
@Sandra
Okay – Ted dekker, and frank peretti for thriller. Love inspired is a book brand that publishes 4 love stories a month and 4 love/ thrillers a month . You can have them delivered to your house .
Mandy-how do I do that?
Karen Kingsbury.
Definitely Wanda Brunstetter and Beverly Lewis. Both excellent Amish writers.
The Chrity series is kind of Christrian but it based on a true story
Francine a Rivers is an excellent author. Two of my favorites are Leota’s Garden & Bridge to Haven, but she has a lot of books that are excellent.
Francine Rivers is an excellent writer of Christian fiction. I have read Redeeming Love, The Scarlet Thread and The Shofar Blew, all amazing, you would love her books.
Amazon ?
I like Ann H. Gabhart. Also agree with the recommendation of Dekker and Peretti. William Sirls is also great.
Terri Blackstock, Colleen Coble, Dee Henderson are all really good.
If you have a kindle, you can type in Christian authors and there are a ton of them.
I like Terri Blackstock
Karen Kingsbury
Francine Rivers!!! Particularly the book Redeeming Love…. Best novel I’ve ever read.
There is a series published by Guidepost called Grace Chapel Inn that are Christian and very entertaining. Local library probably has them. They are not all by the same author so you need to search a list. type into your browser Order of http://books.com/ When it comes up type in Grace Chapel Inn and it should take you right to it. If that doesn’t work, PM me and I will see how I have it saved.
@Andrea, have you read Leota’s Garden by Francine Rivers? I read and loved that several years ago. My 84 year old mother and my 13 year old granddaughter both loved it, too.
Lynne Hinton is another good author. I loved Friendship Cake. Philip Gulley writes a series about a town in Indiana that’s good. I’m sure I’ll think of more later, but looks like you have some ideas to get you started. Also at Order of Books I think you could type in Christian Series and find a lot of good ones.
Francine Rivers!! The best!!!
Jillian Hart
Susan May Warren
Dee Henderson

Nita Jackson (Yada Yada Prayer Group ) My favorite series.

Lisa Wingate – The Prayer Box is awesome. Karen Kingsbury – Even Now was pretty good. If you like edgy Christian fiction try Frank Peretti – anything and everything he writes or Ted Dekker is very good.
