Me too.. that’s the first book of hers I read, it made such an impact on me.. at the time I was experiencing a lot of the emotions her main character was experiencing, so it will always stand out as my favorite even though I love all her books.
You are in for a treat. Love her books. Favorites What I Remember Most and The Language Of Sisters. Both are excellent books. You will love her humor and her unforgettable characters.
You are all very helpful. And here I am in Beaverton Oregon. Didn’t even realize she lives here. Right now I’m staring at the shelves with Julia’s Chocolates in my hand.
@Susan It’s like the birth of children, they arrive in order as they are meant to be…and I waited patiently after Julia’ s Chocolates for each to arrive, it was worth it.
I loved Henry’s Sisters and The Language of Sisters but you can’t go wrong with any of them. I remember her characters for years after I’ve read her books, as if they were my friends ?
ALL of them!! I could not pick just one of her books as a favorite. Each book is amazing in its own way. You could start from the beginning and go from there I would suggest.
Well, geez, @Tammy This was fun to see!! I am so pleased you want to try out my books. Start with The Last Time I Was Me if you feel like laughing, or Julia’s Chocolates. If you like history, try The Language of Sisters or The First Day of The Rest of My Life, because there’s a little history in both. If you want to read about a woman re-making her life, Such A Pretty Face or What I Remember Most, and if you like books on sisters, Henry’s Sisters. Always read my books while eating chocolate. It’s a rule. You must. I insist.
I bought Julia’s Chocolates. I admit that the chocolate part in the title drew me in. I feel out of the loop, seeing that you have so many fans here and can’t believe that I haven’t read you. I love to laugh, so I think I chose the right book!
The ones I have read, I loved every one, they are all so different!! I adored Tate in “A Different Kind of Normal”. My first book was “What I Remember Most” and it changed me!! “Henry’s Sisters” was so good, I loved the three sisters, and Henry was the best!!!

I read Such a Pretty Face and came across a line in there about running out of time to be the person you want to be. It was a pivotal moment for me where I decided to leave my stressful job and raise my family. Since then, I have read everything she’s written and there isn’t one of them that won’t make you laugh and likely cry. She writes one hell of a female lead! Enjoy whatever you pick.
