A Time To Kill is my favorite. It was his first.
That was the first book I have read from him as well. After that I could no longer stop reading his works.
Omg yes. Loved this book???
That’s the book am reading currently, and so far its really awesome
I’m currently this one
Agree!
The Client,
A time to kill. Could not put it down. My favorite. I’m from Mississippi too!
A Time to Kill. Or The Firm.
Try The Pelican Brief or The Firm…great reads, great books!!
The painted house.
The Painted House was my least favorite book…and I live about 20 miles from the house this book was based on
Bleachers
The Firm – the one who made him famous.
A time to kill….in my opinion , his best
The early stuff is better!
I just downloaded The Racketeer on my Kindle. I read a couple of sample chapters and it seems really good.
I was disappointed in his recent The Rooster Bar.
I’m still trying to make my way through this. It’s so boring. And I’m not really sure I like the premise. Or the characters, other than the female–can’t remember her name. Yeah. It is that unmemorable.
I loved the Rooster Bar…it was an interesting take on the student loan crisis…if your a student this one might be fun for you to read.
A Time to Kill.
A time to kill & the Rainmaker
Read it and loved the movie
A time to kill.,
I still hate the two drunken remorseless men.
I’m not a huge fan of John Grisham books, but I did like Pelican Brief, Rainmaker and Runaway Jury. And for those not directly connected to movies and a good first book would be Street Lawyer.
The Firm
A Time to Kill.
And, I may be in the minority here but I really enjoyed The Innocent Man. It’s not his norm, it’s non-fiction.
His older stuff is better than his recent works.
the partner, absolutely blows ones mind
Yes, The Firm.
A Time to Kill
The client
Thus was my favorite
A Time To Kill, Sycamore Row, The Testament or The Painted House. I love Grisham.
A Time to Kill and a nonfiction book… The Innocent Man was really good
@Hannah
The Testament. I think they are all equally good but The Testament is one of my all time favorites. I have read it several times.
The Firm
A time to Kill, what a debut.
His best book!
I loved the Rainmaker
King of Torts was quite good.
Runaway Jury. This book was written in the 1990’s. There is a movie made based on the story but there is one major change in the movie because the producers of the movie didn’t want to get sued by big tobacco. The main story line concerns a smoker who is suing tobacco company for selling deadly addictive product. At the time this was a big story because consumers were just beginning to suspect Big Tobacco companies did know that cigarettes were addictive and continued to sell product and keep the public unaware of the risks associated with smoking. Its a great story, one worth reading to understand how big corporations can manipulate legal system. The movie bigwigs were afraid of being sued and changed the plot from big tobacco to gun lobby which at the time had far less money, and turned a good story into a made for boilerplate movie. I highly recommend it because I still think the book stands up better today than it did in 1990s and may have been the blue print for his later books. As for background information, might want to read “Dark Money” by Jane Mayer, roughly the same idea only Dark Money is nonfiction while Runaway jury is fiction. Hope this helps.
The Pelican Brief
The Confession. It’s a riveting piece of writing..!
The Rainmaker, if you haven’t seen the movie. Its witty and touches your heart at the right places. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’d shed a tear or two.
The Firm is a taut thriller.
The client
@LauraI think I’ll finally read one of his books as well, thank you for asking this.
My favorite Grisham and one of my fave books of all time is The Last Juror!
I love most of his early books, but have never been able to finish A Time to Kill. The movie was better. Loved The Pelican Brief best.
First one I read and I believe the most classic – The Firm.
A time to kill
The Firm, The Client, A Time to Kill, Pelican Brief, Runaway Jury . . . all good
A Time to Kill. Start at the beginning. 🙂
A Time to Kill. Even if you’ve watched the movie… the book is 1000 times better.
All of the. Which ever one flys off the shelf.
The Testament. The lightest read I’ve done of his books so far.
The Testament or A Time to Kill.
The firm
Playing for Pizza.
A Time to Kill
Definitely “A Time To Kill.”It was my first book I read by Grisham.
Any of the Theo Boone series!
A few years back wasn’t there a sequel to a Time To Kill? I never did read it, and I don’t know the name of it. The book came out years after a time to kill. Totally agree, Stacy Malone Lewis the book is a 1000 times better then the movie!
Sycamore Row.
Yes, that’s it! Did anyone read it?
I did. I liked it.
I have a feeling @Denise that in the near future I’ll have to read Sycamore. Thank you!
