You know that saying “when one door closes, another one opens”?
My motto is “when one book closes, another one opens” ?
Happens pretty simultaneously ??‍♀️

If it’s a really good book, I wait a few days. If it’s not so good, I start a new one right away.

You…you can wait between books?! What sorcery is this?!
I usually have 2 -10 books going at once, there’s never ‘between’! ?

I just finished a very good book and started a new on within five minutes. When I am on a reading kick, I feel like I always have to have a book going!

It depends on how the other book affected me. ? If it was intense, then it will take me a couple of weeks. ?

Unless life gets in the way and i have to stop reading, it is only however long it takes me to open another ebook or grab the next book off my physical TBR pile. So basically less than a minute! Keep marching forward! Lots of books to read and so little time! ?

Usually for the length of time for me to sleep. I finish a lot of books in the morning (I work night shift). Sleep, wake up, start a new book.

I read every night when I go to bed, so it depends when I finish the book 😉 If I finish and I’m not yet tired enough to sleep, I’ll pick up another one 🙂 If I drift off happily after finishing the book I’ll start another one the following night 😀

It depends. Usually a day. But after I read Jane Eyre, it was a week before I was emotionally ready to read another book..

Wait. You have to finish a book before starting another. The excellent book, The Library Book, is languishing right now because I got sucked into Once Upon A River (which I picked up because it was on my way to the bathroom). I usually have two or three books going. One time, I had four.

Just a few minutes, if it was an especially dramatic ending, I might read fb for a half hour before starting a new one

Usually almost immediately unless it’s one of those books I can’t let go of or is super emotional. Then it can be a few days before I can move on.
I’ve only had that happen maybe a half dozen times though.

Mere minutes. I read constantly, since I was a kid. Less while I was in college, because, you know, it’s college. But other than that, always reading!!

It depends. Sometimes as soon as I finish one book I jump into another or other times I wait for some time to pass. Today I finished a book and although I have another book ready to read I’m not sure if I’m ready to dive into it yet. I’m feeling kind of sad that I just finished the book I was reading because I really enjoyed it.
