Depends on the genre. He has a few romance books and thrillers too. The thrillers are a very good read for every period of the year but his romance books are always so sad.
I really enjoyed many of his much earlier work. Lately his newer work isn’t so great. But I would read some of his good ones like Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls, Jack & Jill, Cat and Mouse and Pop Goes the Weasel

He used to be really good when he wrote on his own. Now he has others writting and they are pretty much terrible. If you want a quickie read that you don’t have to retain any of it the he’s your go to guy. sign me ex-fan !
Just kind of eehhhh. You can tell they are quickly written. Most have what sounds like an interesting plot so I read it and them am almost always disappointed in the underwhelming ending. BUT, I still end up reading most of his books when they come out anyway….lol
I’m my opinion most are a little dry..but my husband loves them.

I have to admit that I am a snob when it comes to James Patterson and refuse to read his books. He doesn’t even write most of them!

@Nadeera he has various co-authors. He comes up with the characters and an outline and has someone else write the bulk of the plot.
Garbage and predictable. He seems to pump out anything nowadays.

I agree his early work was much better. Not a fan of his newer stuff.
Try his older stuff it tends to be better.. now he writes with ghost writers and those books tend to be different

Read most of them. Start with stand alone The Quickie. Then Alex Cross series. Read in order because of relationships.
They were really good, especially the Alex Cross series. Since he started writing with someone else, the books are boring.
