Currently ~31 books in the series. The first book chronologically is “Homeland”, but the first three books are a prequel and were published after books 4, 5, and 6. So you could start with Homeland, if you like, or if you want to read in publishing order, start with The Crystal Shard, then finish the next two books, then go back. 🙂
The poppy war is set in Asian culture with lots of reference to martial arts. It’s YA thou.

The Queens Blade by TC Southwell a 9 book series i think and about a ninja type assasin. I really liked it.
You’ll never get more martial arts and fantasy than night angel trilogy by Brent weeks.
