I love the books but there are SO many storylines! Also, I’m dying for him to release the finale, I wont purchase the full set until that happens and I’m praying he doesn’t get hit by a bus before that book gets out, lol
I bought the 1st book a few years ago. Haven’t read it. He hasn’t finished the story and I wouldn’t want to read them all only to forget everything and have to read them again if he ever finishes.
I read the first two books. It’s too grimdark for me, which is really saying something. Also, he’s a bit verbose. I’ve always thought he could do with a good editor.

I’ve read the 1st book in the series. I own the others but haven’t read them yet. I feel like the 1st book took me forever to finish. Maybe because I’ve already watched the show.
I liked them well enough. Have the first four from a box set. Wasn’t impressed with the 5th book, got fairly bored with it. They’re a good enough read, but nowhere near being my favorites
It read half way through book 1 and got distracted by something else (can’t remember what). I read online in an interview George said that the original plot line was for 3 books and Jon and Arya were to be lovers and Tyrion would also fall for Arya and their be a love triangle. ? that would be a different book and series all together ?.
I “read” them through audio book. I was able to get through them really fast and audiobooks hold my attention a lot more than some books can these days. I work a lot so I spend what little free time I have with my kids, hubby, and family.
I read them about a year before the show came out. They’re really good, but slow in some places (like any book can be, let alone books of that size??♀️) I started listening to them on audiobook a couple weeks ago and still really enjoy them ?
I started when the 1st one hit the bookshelves in the 90’s only in paperback before anyone knew who Martin was. His fame and the show has only made his writing worse, sadly, and the last few books pale in comparison
My husbands aunt blew through them and LOVED them
It took me 3 months to read the 5 published books. I loved them. So much detail. Highly recommend.
I was just thinking this morning of picking them up and reading them ?
Yep and it’s fantastic ??
Im in the middle of the second one. I love them
I’ve read them twice and will reread if HE EVER FINISHES THE LAST BOOK! Love them!
@Dannielle *If * he ever finishes it… ??
I almost finished the first book. For me they were just meh. Hopefully you will like them better than I did
Yep, read them twice, LOVE them! ?
I’m one of the frustrated fans who has read them all and is waiting for the next installment, they are great

I’ve been waiting to buy the full set as well. I’ve also been hoping he doesnt kick the bucket too ?
My favorite series. Just started the fifth one. You might be overwhelmed by characters at first. It took me half of that book to follow the story.

I’ve read the first book. Love’d it. Can’t wait to start the next one ?
Loved the series. So intricate and well done. Didn’t care for the changes in the tv version.
I see the TV series and the books as separate entities, considering the books as the full stories and the show like the cliffnote version, lol
Just anxiously awaiting for that sixth book….. ??

Read them all! Loved them!
Really enjoyed them – different from the series too.
Yes. But I discontinued when the series got me hooked. This one’s the exception.
First and second books only.But love it.
I loved it til book 4. Book 4 felt like a hodge podge of characters. Took me almost a year to finish because I lost interest.
ME! And I just got this gem today
I’m waiting for mine to arrive today too!
@Dianna ???

Yassss one of my favourite series.❤️❤️❤️
I read like a hundred pages of the first book. Loved in. A lot better than the show. (I was too lazy to continue as the books are very long)
