Read that when I was in high school 30 plus years ago. It’s disturbing, I read most of her books BECAUSE they were sick & twisted. Yes, I was sick & twisted as a teen too… LOL…
This was the first VC Andrews book I read. I loved it! I read the whole series after reading this book and watched the movies. While the story is a bit messed up it’s a good read.
Her books are very dark and if you have a deliicate soul, it’s risky. I read Flowers, then the sequals -Petals in the wind and If there be thorns, but yes, strong stuff.
Loved her books as a teen… I still have every single book, couldn’t get enough! They are all very twisted. As I got to the newer ones, written after she passed, I lost interest. Not sure if it was because I was outgrowing them or because the writing wasn’t as intriguing to me. When I see them, I am still compelled to buy them, or look for the very few I’m missing from her originals. It’s definitely worth the read!!!
I loved them and read them all . But after she passed I too couldn’t get in to them either , ashley , I think your wright tho about the writer is not the same as the original, they just don’t have the same feel do they??
Her name could’ve been Virginia but on her books she is known as V.C. Andrews. I read that book (and maybe others in that same series) many, many years ago. Very strange story.
EDIT: I guess I haven’t seen the later editions of these books. I stand corrected, apparently she is known as Virginia Andrews. In the past though, she was known as V.C. Andrews.
Alisa Webb This latest variation of the author’s name was news to me so I’m glad someone posted a picture of the book series that plainly showed the author’s name so that I could correct my response. I hate sounding ignorant.
Amazing! It’s one of my favorites. I always have to revisit it every couple years, and actually just finished reading it a few weeks ago. That entire series is really good.
I love everything vc andrews!!!!!! ???? flowers in the attic is my favorite book, the whole series is so dear to my heart because those books got me into reading ❤ I love it!
Loved these books as a teen, I got them out of the school library which is a bit odd looking back on it! Creepy and a bit disturbing but very good to read. I read the Heaven series and My Sweet Audrina but couldn’t really get into the other ones that were written after she died.
Read it a long time ago. Met VC Andrews at a Chicago book signing about 1978 or ’79. She was so gracious though she’doesn’t had tiring day. Now ‘her’ books are farmed out for other writers to ghostwrite.
I read it as a teenager…quite scary to think things like that really happen. Loved the series!
It’s a creepy, disturbing book in a creepy, disturbing series. Having said that, I read it as a teen and loved it.
Couldn’t have described it better myself
Yes! Great way to describe this book. I loved it but I don’t think there was a part where I wasn’t thinking “oh my!”
Excellent! A one sitting read!
V.c Andrews is definitely my guilty pleasure… Flowers in the Attic is wonderful! It is creepy and disturbing, but in a good way, I guess

Read that when I was in high school 30 plus years ago. It’s disturbing, I read most of her books BECAUSE they were sick & twisted. Yes, I was sick & twisted as a teen too… LOL…
I love V C Andrews. When she died and a family member started writing for her it went a bit downhill. My favourite is My Sweet Audrina.

This was the first VC Andrews book I read. I loved it! I read the whole series after reading this book and watched the movies. While the story is a bit messed up it’s a good read.

Read it as a teen, and it still haunts me… Did u watch the tv series?? With heather graham?
This is the first of her books iv read
I did and it’s one awesome book….
I confuse this with Flowers for Algernon, they both have to do with mental issues though, right?
Its about kids being locked in an attic by their grandmother.
In a manner of speaking I guess you could say that but ummm so different!
I love this book. X
Yes great book! The whole series is.
Loved that series
Read this series over 30 years ago as a teen… still sticks with me
Her books are very dark and if you have a deliicate soul, it’s risky. I read Flowers, then the sequals -Petals in the wind and If there be thorns, but yes, strong stuff.
Yes. It was interesting.
I read it many, many years ago. Still have not forgotten it. Very disturbing book. Talking about consequences of one’s choices!!!!
Great series, brilliant 1st book in the series, if a bit odd xx
Amazing author, my sister is obsessed with her work so I get to pinch them all. 😉
Fabulous book, one of my all time favourites
Loved the series! Very addicting!!?
Loved her books as a teen… I still have every single book, couldn’t get enough! They are all very twisted. As I got to the newer ones, written after she passed, I lost interest. I loved the entire series.
I loved Flowers and went on to read the rest of that series as well as other books of hers.
I loved them and read them all . But after she passed I too couldn’t get in to them either , ashley , I think your wright tho about the writer is not the same as the original, they just don’t have the same feel do they??

Loved it! Read the whole series except the very last one. Couldnt find anywhere. ?
I read that…..book (obviously) way better than the movie….
I actually liked the first book, anyway. I think they got a little tiresome after a while. Never expected to like it, but I did.
As a teen. Found quite a few of her books at library sales. So I will be reading them again. I enjoyed them as a teen a lot of plots and twist.
I remember the movie, didn’t know it was a book
yep. trilogy I think.
cool. good to know, thanks
Her name could’ve been Virginia but on her books she is known as V.C. Andrews. I read that book (and maybe others in that same series) many, many years ago. Very strange story.

Yes I have seen both variations of the author’s name in my travels.
Alisa Webb This latest variation of the author’s name was news to me so I’m glad someone posted a picture of the book series that plainly showed the author’s name so that I could correct my response. I hate sounding ignorant.
I read them all in 7th grade. Loved them, but looking back I realize how disturbing they were.
Amazing! It’s one of my favorites. I always have to revisit it every couple years, and actually just finished reading it a few weeks ago. That entire series is really good.
Have never read the book
Read it as a child and still love it now!!
I read these when I was in college in the mid 1970’s. I enjoyed them then.
I love everything vc andrews!!!!!! ???? flowers in the attic is my favorite book, the whole series is so dear to my heart because those books got me into reading ❤ I love it!
Have read the whole series multiple times.
Loved these books as a teen, I got them out of the school library which is a bit odd looking back on it! Creepy and a bit disturbing but very good to read. I read the Heaven series and My Sweet Audrina but couldn’t really get into the other ones that were written after she died.
Yes, a long time ago!
I’ve read 2 and started the 3rd but it’s gets harder to read the more books you get into. I need to pick it back up and finish it…

I have read it several times. It’s a very hard read, I cry every time I read it, but excellent, and the rest of the series are brilliant as well xx
Yes i loved it
Years ago. It was okay
A very long time ago. The movie did not do it justice. It was a powerful series but… oh, so dark; pretty much all of her books were.
Read them all so many times
Many years ago
Yes many times.
I haven’t read the books but I recently watched the movies
I still have the paperbacks. Was such an out of it story, but you just have to read it to see how the story ends
Yeah but some of her stories are so similar. But I read Flowers in the Attic and it was not bad. Did not get far into the 2nd one tho
My daughter has read the whole series she loved it !!
V.C. Andrews was my go to when I was younger. I should go and reread them.
I have them on my shelf wanting to be read ?
I read the series but I have to say I found them a bit disturbing.
Have the series on tbr pile x
Incedible Book, Beautifully Written
Great book I used to read her stuff a lot but after she died I didn’t like the author the family employed to write under her name.
They use several ghost writers and they are terrible, lol I think she died in the middle of the Heaven Series somewhere
I’ve read the book!Such a wonderful story but the incest part kinda grossed me out
Many years ago – good read
Yes. I enjoyed them years ago
Read that in high school and read it again recently good book but sad

Read the series many years ago, loved it!
Yes!! I read it way back n 2001, as an Inquisitive 17 Year Old!! It was a very interesting book!!
Great series.
Just finished reading them about a month ago. Sad, disturbing but definitely worth the read!!!
Enjoyed it, read it many years ago
I read them when I was younger. Ok, but nothing I’d be crazy to re-read.
It was one of her earlier series, written while she was still alive, so it is much better than “her” later books.
I read half of it and found it very strange but I will read the whole thing agsin
Yes I read it in high school with my friends in our little book club. It was a well written story but very disturbing at some parts.
I was disturbed by the series, inicest is never okay!!!
Read it a long time ago. Met VC Andrews at a Chicago book signing about 1978 or ’79. She was so gracious though she’doesn’t had tiring day. Now ‘her’ books are farmed out for other writers to ghostwrite.
It was a great book. I loved it!
