I have read Year One (dystopian) and Dark Witch (Fantacy/Romance). She is a fluffy writer and doesn’t always fit my mood but her books are a good light read.
Mills and Boon style, formulaic style. But they can be good reads if you choose the ones which are a bit suspenseful. I enjoyed The Calhouns stories.
She also writes as JD Robb. I’ve never read her, but I know she was a popular author when I worked in a library!
My mum (83 years old) loves Nora Roberts and has passed a good few of her books on to me. I was shocked at how graphic her sex scenes are!! I also began to feel one book was pretty similar to another. But give it a go, you might thoroughly enjoy it.
Yes hers books are good
I am a huge fan of her books. She is an extremely good writer. I do not think you will be disappointed! She writes romance novels and also mystery. She also writes under the name JD Robb which are also mysteries but set in the future.
And Amanda quick.
I love the JDRobb books, and also her less romance suspense books as Nora.
I have read every Nora Roberts book!! I automatically read every new release!
Chesapeake Bay Series is my favorite. Probably a little dated now but I would suggest start with that. You’ll know if you like her writing after that book.
Shes amazing, I especially love her trilogies. There are so many to choose from. Her stand alones are fantastic too. You cant go wrong with her
Yes. Read them, they are great.
Love nora Roberts books am reading the inn boonsboro trilogy it’s really good so far
Ahhh!! Love those too!
I’ve read a few and liked them
What book should i start with?
“The search” is good, I’ve just finished that one
@Gabrielle thank you
Soooo good!
She is a naturel story teller that can write any genre she’s that good. She is also known as JD Robb where she has a long running crime series. She is really addictive
I’ve only read Year One and disliked it immensely. I found it to be dialogue heavy and that dialogue was amateurish. I rolled my eyes through 2/3 the book and just couldn’t bring myself to finish. Others loved it though… it just wasn’t my cup of tea
I just finished the cousins o Dwyer trilogy, read them in a week really good. I like her style of writing have ordered a few more of hers
She is good enough that you should read one of her books in a genre that you would enjoy.
Yes, love Nora Roberts
The mackade brothers series, you will fall in love
A shelter in place was really good. Not too much romance
Loved that one!
Ive seen comments about Year One being a good book. I have not read any by her yet. (Following)
She’s my fav- I’ve read all her books (or close to them!)
@Lara which one has been your favorite so far? I can check it out ?
I was introduced to Year One in January of last year and was instantly hooked on that book. I’m not sure on her other books, but just from the one, I’m 100% going to read more from her.
I loved that book!
Yes
Love her books
Love her books
Yes she is a great author
I like some of her later series. The early ones i found dated
My faves are the dark witch, year one, guardians and brides
Read Year One.
The sequel is great too!
I have liked all her books.
I think I’m close to having read them all too!
One of my favorite Authors. The Chesapeake Bay Series is my favorite, but love them all. There is a story for each of her characters from each book.
That is one of the reasons I love her. She never forgets her other characters in her books. You will always find their stories in another book. And they are mentioned enough you want to know their stories too.
@Hollie this is sherryl woids she is another favorite. Read Susan mallery also Robyn Carr. Raeane thayne.
@Margaret I have read them all too. And Catherine Coulter is another!
@Hollie. Yes she is. I havent read the last few books of her fbi derues
Yes she’s that good. Some of my favourite’s are The Obsession, Carolina Moon, The Witness, Inn Boonsboro Trilogy, Three Sisters Island Trilogy, Chesapeake Bay Quartet.
the first book I read by her was year one and this turned me off all her books I suggest dont start with that one
She is good, read several of her books.
I liked Midnight Bayou.
That was a good one!
I read the same and have been gifted ‘Year One’… not read it yet so I’m not much help to you ?
She has some very good books out there didn’t care for the last 2 trilogy she wrote. But i usually love her books
I lovedmidnight bayou. Wish it had been a trilogy
Not my favorite author…
Her earlier books are the best. She is a formula writer so after a while characters sound a bit stale and repetitive.
I was recommended the same. I read some trilogy but no idea of the series name. Good author
She has lots of trilogies.
I like to read her during holidays or when I want something not too intense. I really like her books. Some of the older titles are better than the newer ones. Usually a bit of mystery and romance.
@Theresa definitely lighter reading. Cleans my brain after intense books.
I like Nora Roberts but prefer her as JD Robb. The in death series are my all time favourite books
@Tamara , we are the exact opposite, I prefer her as Nora Roberts. Lol
I was obsessed with those books! I listened to them on Audible and fell in love with the voice of Roark ?
The Bride Quartet was so much fun to read. I wait for her series to be complete and then I read them all at once. I loved the Three Sisters Island Trilogy, the Circle Trilogy and the Key Trilogy. I got to meet her at a Romance Writers Convention in Dallas. She is a smart and talented woman. I cannot get into her writings as JD Robb, but I am definitely a Nora Roberts fan.
Wow thank you all so many recommendations.where to start??
I’ve loved every Nora Roberts book I’ve read. In fact, I no longer give them up when I’m finished. I save them to read again!
Ha ha! Ditto!
My absolute guilty pleasure author. I read EVERYTHING by her. My favourites are The Witness and The Villa. I am loving the Eve Dallas series by her under JD Robb
The Witness was awesome!
Have read many of her books. I especially loved to read them on vacation!! Love her.
I loved the bride series as well as any of her Irish trilogies.
I’ve never read them but I used to work in a thrift store and saw quite a few of them. Her books easily outnumbered anything else that came through so she must but really good
right her and James Patterson run those shelves
I may get some of her books this weekend
Has anyone read obsession by her looks very good
It’s a fabulous book! Sent you a pm!
Fantastic books, have loved them all!
Just fun, easy reads.
Love her books ?
I have read a few abs they were movies on lifetime
They are very easy reads! I’d recommend x
The Obsession. I have read it twice, really enjoyed it.
I haven’t but my Mum loves her.
Nora Roberts is a prolific and popular writer of a few different genres. You read her for fun and entertainment value mostly. I think of her as a very talented woman who can write in whatever genre or style she chooses.
I recommend ‘High Noon’ the first book of hers that I read and I really enjoyed it!
Good author but usually easy reads…
I grab a Nora Roberts book when I want a lighter easy read. Usually after a big historical fiction book
