Just looking at the list I can already tell that there are books that are WAY over my head, but I’d say there are at least 10-20 of them that I have already read.
I’ve been putting this off for far too long. I know some of them are beyond my comprehension out would just bore me to tears, but I’m going to at least ATTEMPT to read each book on the list, with the help of the library for books I don’t anticipate actually finishing. Maybe I’ll fall in love with a few unexpected stories along the way!
Apparently throughout my life I have read 67 of those books. Admittedly several were for my English degree. The only one I read that I really disliked was oryx and crake. Just couldn’t get into that Margaret atwood. I like a couple of her other books but not that one.
@Heather I started listening to Oryx and Crake and just couldn’t get past some of the imagery towards the beginning. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth just thinking of it. I loved the Handmaids Tale though.
I have read 75 of the Rory Gilmore list but some of that number I hated! Glad to see that The Secret Life of Bees and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn are on the list, as they are two of my all time favorites.
I’ve only read 60 of those and have started reading or already have on my TBR list probably 15 or so more. I want to try this though! But I do think some of those references were made by Lorelei and probably about the movie and not the book ??♀️
Not yet…it would take me YEARS to get through it since I only read about 50-60 books a year now. But I would love to print out the checklist and mark some off as I get through them.
Been working on it off and on for about the past five years…I’ve only gotten through 50 so far. At this point, I kind of doubt I’ll ever get through all of them lol
52! However, I feel a bit accomplished because quite a few of those were added this year, without looking at the list. Reread if the list, I have a TBR starter for 2019!
I’m not doing the challenge, but I’m up to 27 of them now (a few I’ve actually just read earlier this year lol so apparently I’ve made progress on a challenge I’m not taking part in.)
No. I never even thought of that! Maybe I should
Such a great idea! Never thought of it ?
Where can we find the list of books?

Just looking at the list I can already tell that there are books that are WAY over my head, but I’d say there are at least 10-20 of them that I have already read.
I’ve read some of those books. But others would be over my head or not to my interest. (Although I’d love to try to attempt the list.)
I have the list and I’ve started on it a few times I’ve not made it through yet.
36 out of 339 ? not bad lol
Some of these books are not just over my head but wouldn’t be interested in them
https://www.bustle.com/articles/195971-the-gilmore-girls-revival-reading-challenge-includes-all-the-books-mentioned-in-the-new-episodes
I miss the Gilmore Girls. This list made me really miss it. I love the references. ?❤️ I wish they would continue the revival.
I have a Goodreads shelf with the full list and I’ve read 72 so far. Who knows if I’ll ever actually finish!
Summer Rae Lyons do you have a link? I want to start a shelf, too, and it would probably be easier just to click & add from yours ?
Turns out I’ve only read 23. Challenge accepted
88/339 – hmm, maybe will create a Gilmore Girls Challenge shelf in my Goodreads library.
52
There are at least 20 more I could see myself reading…. the rest are either over my reading ability or I have zero interest in
yes! ? 101/339 and then I gave up after Dead Souls and went back to bestsellers.
I’m gonna start this. I read a lot of these for school and some on my own.
Is there a list, I can see, or do you have to watch the show?
There are links for the list posted and I also copied the list and posted it in like 7 comments.
What AN AWESOME IDEA!!!!!
I have been working on this.
I haven’t looked at the list in years, but I know there are a few books on there that I wouldn’t personally submit my brain to. ? @Georgia, here’s a site that lists them: https://www.listchallenges.com/rory-gilmore-reading-challenge
@Carrie thank you!
@Carrie thank you!!
Hmm I am on 17… gotta work on this, what a great idea!
I need to find the list …..
@Brandy it’s linked in comments towards the top ?
@Erica lol of course I didn’t look ?
I’ve read 143 out of the 336. ??♀️
I have read 75 of the Rory Gilmore list but some of that number I hated! Glad to see that The Secret Life of Bees and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn are on the list, as they are two of my all time favorites.
57 books
Is there a list somewhere?????
Oops Nevermind. Sorry!
I’ve read 77 of them but probably wouldn’t want to read many of the others.
I’ve read quite a few on this list but I don’t have an interest in reading all of them.
56 for me. Here is the list if you are interested.
https://www.listchallenges.com/rory-gilmore-reading-challenge
I copied the list and that is as far I got
No but i love the show
I’m looking that up now lol
Just checked the list I am at 57. Got my reading challenge set for a while.
No but it’s a bucket list thing for me ?
27% I guess I need to Rory up lol
72
I’ve read 138 of them….most of them having been for high school and college classes. 🙂
I’m working my way through them. VERY slowly.
I counted 162 that I’ve read, almost all of them during my literature-student years. Can’t say I remember them all clearly though. ?
Clearly not bc i still don’t get half the references ? even though it’s one of my fave shows
It turns out ive read 36 out of the list so I’ve got a ways to go
Never occurred to me….now I have a challenge
Do you have a list
@Fran https://www.buzzfeed.com/amphtml/krystieyandoli/all-339-books-referenced-in-gilmore-girls
I love love the show but have no desire to read the list.
I’ve only read 60 of those and have started reading or already have on my TBR list probably 15 or so more. I want to try this though! But I do think some of those references were made by Lorelei and probably about the movie and not the book ??♀️
I have read 35 of them. Some on my TBR list but there are quite a few I have no desire to ever read.
No, but now I want to
Not yet…it would take me YEARS to get through it since I only read about 50-60 books a year now. But I would love to print out the checklist and mark some off as I get through them.
i have rad 43 and some i just would not read others might try
I’m sure I’ve read a few, but Rory and I have waaaaay different tastes in books. ?
Goals
Been working on it off and on for about the past five years…I’ve only gotten through 50 so far. At this point, I kind of doubt I’ll ever get through all of them lol
I posted the list.
I’ve just started watching the Gilmore Girls. I love the idea of this as a reading challenge.
No. ?
Nope ? but doesn’t sound like a bad idea haha
I’d like to aim for 1/3 of the list.
I’m working on it.
Yup. A little more than halfway through. Learned about some pretty cool authors and interesting books from that list. ❤️?
I didn’t think of that!
52! However, I feel a bit accomplished because quite a few of those were added this year, without looking at the list. Reread if the list, I have a TBR starter for 2019!
I’ve read 49 of those. Probably won’t read them all.
I must be old. What is Gilmore Girls?
It was a TV show and Rory Gilmore was a big reader. This is a list of all the books.
https://www.listchallenges.com/rory-gilmore-reading-challenge
@Tammi thanks ?
You are welcome!
I created a table in a word document with a goal to read 100 books from GG. So far I have read 22 books and there are 48 more I want to read.
I didn’t know this was a thing and since I only watched the show when visiting my mom, I doubt it’s a list I’d connect with
I’ve never heard of this lol
Working on it!
I’m not doing the challenge, but I’m up to 27 of them now (a few I’ve actually just read earlier this year lol so apparently I’ve made progress on a challenge I’m not taking part in.)
Where can I get the list?
https://www.listchallenges.com/rory-gilmore-reading-challenge
102 read… not bad but I don’t think I saw anything else on the list that I’ll be jumping to read!
