I finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman last night and then started Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck right after; it’s been a TBR forever.
The copy of this book has been on my shelf for at least 15 years somehow I have had a want to/ don’t want to read relationship with this book. Finding I am enjoying it, and am picking up on the story under the story, more than I would have if I read it when I was younger.
I read it about 15 years ago, then lent it out to a friend who of course never gave it back. Perhaps next time I am at the second-hand bookstore, I will grab a copy.
@Darleen I’m 100 pages in and really enjoying it as well. The only other thing I’ve read (and am still reading) by Neil Gaiman is Sandman, which is amazing.
I’m working on All Rights Reserved by Gregory Scott Katsoulis in hardback, The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine on ebook, and Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson on audiobook.
A Winter’s Tale was such a beautiful book. A very good friend of mine suggested it to me for discussion since he thought I was one of a few he knew who would appreciate it. I remember finishing it with tears streaming down my face. When my husband asked me if the ending was sad, all I could say was no, it’s because it was such a beautiful ending.
Thank you for letting me know that, the beginning is a bit slow going, but I’ve been wanting to read it for a long time, so I’ve been persevering. Now, I’m excited!!
