It reads like fanfic. That said, it’s a play so its meant to be seen. Reading it will of course be lacking. I also maintain that some things are meant to be heard, not read, but I’m not going to hijack the thread with the audiobook debate ?
I did and I loved it. I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect or her work, but loved it anyway. It was so nice to get more from the characters and it made me want more.
I read it. As someone who has done theater, I presume this could be potentially great on stage; however, as a story, I did not like it one bit. The characterization was so incredibly off in my opinion. They felt like watered down versions of themselves, reduced to nothing but their basest traits. In my opinion, it didn’t seem like a believable continuation of the current existing story.
I’m in the minority of people who really liked it! Also, I read plays all the time, and I do theatre so it was interesting to read it in this format, and I could picture how it would look onstage.
I mean as a standalone if harry potter wasn’t a thing maybe it would be good but the plot holes and in accuracy ruined it for me. I have heard the cast and show are AMAZING and super talented though
To be honest, I absolutely HATED it. And no, it wasn’t because it’s written as a script. I just didn’t like the story. Knowing what JK Rowling said about time turners before I just couldn’t take it seriously. To me it’s more like a half decent fan fic.
Read and ?????
Decided not to. Didn’t want to spoil the magic!
@Munnu ?
Wasn’t keen tbh
I tried…I honestly couldn’t get into and I REALLY wanted to enjoy it. Couldn’t do it though.
I had gotten it from the library, but couldn’t get past the first few pages. It just didn’t seem right. Didn’t actually seem like Harry Potter.
Read it and thought it was just a money maker and not a very good one
After reading it I refuse to acknowledge its existence and am sad that I spent money on it for my collection.
I am. It’s okay.

I read it and although I was happy to get more HP content, I just didn’t feel like it made sense.
Yes! I like it so far…it’s different reading the play format.
I did and I loved it. I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect or her work, but loved it anyway. It was so nice to get more from the characters and it made me want more.
@Angie I liked it too.
I read it about 3 weeks ago. I thought it was great
@Dennis I liked it too.
Hate that book.
That is a piece of garbage
Read it. Wish I hadn’t
Wasn’t up to par with the rest of the books for sure.
I read it the night it came out. I went into it reading it as if it was a fanfic that went to print. And I enjoyed it from that angle
Read it, didn’t like it, but saw the play and it was actually quite good. So maybe it just is better seen than read.
I loved it but you have to known it’s a play, not a prose book. Plays read differently and work differently.
Not currently but I have read it
wasn’t that fond of it

@Tiffany I really liked it too.
I liked the story just wish it was written as a novel and not a screenplay. I feel the same about Fantastic Beasts, wish there were novels.
Sorry I disliked it 🙁 plot hole mad

THIS.
ALL OF THIS!
I wanted to burn my copy but it belonged to the library
I’ve definitely read it
I bought it pre-order when it first came out,… still haven’t picked it up
@Samantha I preordered it as soon as it came out and I only read it last month lol
I read it right after reading the first 7 books. Loved it so much!
The worst book I’ve ever read.
Yep!!!!!!
@Shaira Here’s your kindred spirit?
yes I have read it and I think the way it was written sucked I did the idea behind it but I think it could have been a lot better than it was
