It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but I still remember how much I enjoyed it. Forget the notoriety. It’s a really good read, he’s a really good writer!
Hard to put down. The controversy was that the author took liberties with the truth, yet called the book a memoir, which it was not. Oprah took him to the woodshed over it on TV.
I had read the book before that controversy broke, and thought it was excellent. I was disappointed to learn the truth, but still think the book was worth it. A shame that the author felt the need to lie or misrepresent…
I read it a very long time ago. However, I do remember liking it.
Thank you .
I loved it. Read it when it first came out. Thought the outrage over it was completely blown out of proportion
Yes, i have a later edition with a note from the author included . . .
I really liked it. I read it years ago but i still think about it.
Good read.
GREAT! Keep at it!??
Will do. Thank you ?
I loved it and I met James Frey and he was awesome.
Me, too. He even helped get a friend of mine into recovery, behind-the-scenes.
I liked it
I thought it was over rated.
It’s intense
It was a little too much for me
Loved it, read it a very long time ago. If you enjoy it, read My Friend Leonard by James Frey when you finish.
Will do for sure.. thanks

As long as you know it’s a novel and not a true story like the author originally claimed, enjoy.
Loved it. Yes there’s a bit of controversy around it – but it’s a great read
Read it a long time ago but really enjoyed it.
It’s fiction
Even though there was controversy surrounding the book, it was worth reading
I liked it!
I really enjoyed the first half and then it seemed to get repetitive and boring to me after that.
I still like it, although he was called out on being a total ripoff.
Worth reading.
I read it a long time ago but remember it well. Very good read about addiction.
Gripping and unforgettable. The controversy had more to do with the marketing of the book as decided by the publisher.
I loved that book .. read it some time ago and it has stayed with me ever since … think about 12 years ago… can that be right ?….
Hard to put down. The controversy was that the author took liberties with the truth, yet called the book a memoir, which it was not. Oprah took him to the woodshed over it on TV.
Wow.. thanks for the back story. Will do some research on it for sure.

It’s so good but it’s not a true memoir – it’s fiction
Even though it turned out to be fiction, I enjoyed it.
Lie. Why would you after the fact?
I liked it when I read it but if I had known beforehand that Frey is a liar, I wouldn’t have bothered.
I loved it.
