@Jamesray in that case, I have a few titles for you : Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte ; Oliver Twist, by Charles Dickens ; The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde; Edgar Allan Poe’s stories ; The Great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald ; Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf ; Dubliners by James Joyce ; The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck ; Breakfast at Tiffany’s, by Truman Capote… And SO many more! ??
A hand full. Ive read Dracula, some Grim tails, 2 Sherlocks, Around the World in 80 days, Mobt Dick, the Jungle Book, and maybe some more i put away from the sun and dust
Jane Austen is really a really great jumping off point. I love the Brontë sisters, and if you liked Dracula you may like The Picture of Dorian Gray, it’s pretty damn good. If you like fantasy, you can’t go wrong with Tolkien, and Beowulf is fantastic.
I love Victorian lit. Some of my favs are great expectations, wuthering heights, Jane eyre, Tess of the d’urbervilles, lady Audrey’s secret, the picture of Dorian grey… i dont know if I’m missing any but they’re all great classics and fast reads in my opinions.
Anything Jane Austen. Frankenstein. Jane Eyre. The Monk by Matthew G. Lewis. The Woman in White. Zofloya. Anything Ann Radcliffe. Middlemarch. Anything J.R.R. Tolkien. Rebecca. Picture of Dorian Gray.
“Candide” is about the only ancient book that reads to me like a modern comedy. “Crime and Punishment” engaged me so much I read it after using the Cliff Notes to bluff my way through class, “Great Expectations” is also still readable.
My favorite book of all time is Anna Karenina, that’s quite the undertaking though. I love some Sherlock as well. A Study in Scarlet is a good place to start and it’s a great read. I read Pride and Prejudice once a year. Fantastic characters in that one.
Hi! I’m not into classics, really, only a few that I’ve clicked with, but if you’re interested in recommendations from people who love classics, I could recommend some booktube videos from some people I love to watch reviews from:

Yes, I’ve seen both on classics lists. BTW, I’m listening to To Kill a Mockingbird read by Sissy Spacek and it is great fun to listen to.
