Bihar Diaries by Amit Lodha, “Bihar Diaries narrates the thrilling account of how Amit Lodha arrested Vijay Samrat, one of Bihar’s most feared ganglords, notorious for extortion, kidnapping and the massacre of scores of people. The book follows the adrenaline-fuelled chase that took place across three states during Amit’s tenure as superintendent of police of Shekhpura, a sleepy mofussil town in Bihar. How does Amit navigate between his many professional challenges and conquer his demons? What does he do when the ganglord comes after his family? Bihar Diaries captures vividly the battle of nerves between a dreaded outlaw and a young, urbane IPS officer.”

My best friend is currently reading this one!
Joseph Wambaugh has written some great ones.
My Dad was homicide detective….I really wish he would’ve written a book . The few stories he told me were crazy!
I’ve only read one, but Craig Johnson’s Longmire books.
I read one and watched several seasons of the Netflix show which is also good but has no supernatural elements like the one book I read.
These 2 Not by the the policemen themselves, but The Force by Don Winslow and The Whites by Richard Price are both great
Thank you all. I will look at them all.
Joseph Wambaugh wrote several.
The last policeman trilogy. Its a despotism -taking place before an astroid hits earth. I lijed it. Not a modern day series.
I just ordered a book I haven’t read yet , but sounds good it’s called Loose Units by Paul F. Verhoeven
Gotta go with Wambaugh. I’ve read everything he’s written.
A friend of mine from Australia has been living and working on the Scillys, she loves it!
