Building them with wood can be pretty expensive, but I’ve heard of people using stacked wooden crates to make one.

I go to a 2nd hand store, buy the cheapest bookshelf or just a shelf in general and take it home to paint, stain, decoupage, etc. to match my decor.
Ive seen pics of an ordinary armchair with wooden pallets down sides etc, painted etc and holds loads of books. Thats something i will be doing when i get my own place…not just to armchairs tho lol
