Oh, I’ve had a Kindle longer than 4 years. I had a basic 4-way button Kindle for 3 or 4 years before upgrading to the Paperwhite. There’s not a whole lot to be knowledgeable about concerning e-ink Kindle. They’re fairly basic pieces of technology.
@Mike it depends on what you call fair. I read my big books at home, I carry a small book when I leave the house and I “usually” take my Nook when I travel. However, when I flew two weeks ago I took my Ken Follett book (it was big) because I wanted to finish it.
It’s all personal preference and how much room you have.
@Mike Well, there are some classics that are more modern than others, e.g. Lord of the Flies is not available there because its not in public domain yet. Other books include 1984, Brave New World, etc.
I’m hardcore – all about the ebook. I have Calibre on my computer. I’ve owned 4 ereaders (currently a Paperwhite) I have all the apps (Overdrive, moonreader pro, etc) on my phone. Life is good.
You’re very welcome Another website that I use for e-book discussion is https://mobileread.com/ again, it’s one of the earlier places I read when I first had downloaded tons of classics from http://gutenberg.org/
Yep, pretty much a total kindle convert now. I do read the occasional real book, but that’s only because I have SO many in my house. Much prefer to read on my kindle, i which is why I chose to only publish my books on kindle. ?
Kindle, NYPL SimplyE app, iBook…I’ll read on anything if it saves my back from carrying around my books all the time. I have hard copy books for home, and I’ll never give them up!
I read both, depending on where I am and what I want to read. I can get many Kindle books free, so I prefer reading on Kindle. I also love the book summary apps when I want to read a book fast. (I read non-fiction mostly…)
I really love how convenient they are. I borrow them from the library through Overdrive. I feel as if I have discovered a treasure chest! I am using my library card instead of my credit card. I have read 16 books this year.
I read almost exclusively on Kindle.
Thumbs up.. Not a fan of carrying heavy baggage of books?
That, and the smell/and font size/lighting of paper books gives me a massive headache.
And e-books are wayyyyy more affordable for me.
Lol.. Seems u like the free stuffs
I like affordable.
I keep a tight budget.
By the way which do you read and have now?
Which model of Kindle?
I’ve had the Paperwhite… Oh, going on 4 or so years now.
4 Years? ,I just got interested last year.. I bet you are pretty knowledgeable then?

@Mike it depends on what you call fair. I read my big books at home, I carry a small book when I leave the house and I “usually” take my Nook when I travel. However, when I flew two weeks ago I took my Ken Follett book (it was big) because I wanted to finish it.

I like e books. One of the reasons is project Gutenberg provides for all my classics. ?
Project Gutenberg Is that the name of the Site?
@Mike Yup this one https://www.gutenberg.org/
@Mike Its more for books in the public domain e.g. the older classics
Oh OK.. I’ll check other out later..thanks
classics themselves are old.. but you call them the “older classics ” must be really old then
@Mike Well, there are some classics that are more modern than others, e.g. Lord of the Flies is not available there because its not in public domain yet. Other books include 1984, Brave New World, etc.
Hmm.. I agree

So much easier to transport! I got tired of bringing a dozen books with me to travel, and then I just got addicted to the format

I like my Kindle. It’s like having a library in my house. I also like books as well.
They’re great while traveling.
That’s all I read and I love the library for getting them free!
I too get all my books, ebooks, & dvd’s from my library which I absolutely love.
More and more so these days. Although they’ll never replace my love of physical books.
Me!!! Love my Kobo!
Same here. Hoping to get the new kindle oasis soon
Me…
Love mine!
I had a e ink non lit kindle and loved it but haven’t used an ebook since the kindle died
Yes, Do you have any good suggestions for E-Book websites where we can download W-Books?
Check out overdrive and your library – you can get many ebooks for free.
??
i love ereaders, but definitely prefer physical books
Me!
Great for traveling and annoying when you cannot get a particular title on them; I prefer real books, but they take up too much space.
Just bought two more eBooks because it’s 8pm and I hate TV and I want something new to read. I love the convenience of them!
I love both! Physical and ebooks!
I’m hardcore – all about the ebook. I have Calibre on my computer. I’ve owned 4 ereaders (currently a Paperwhite) I have all the apps (Overdrive, moonreader pro, etc) on my phone. Life is good.
What is Calibre
https://calibre-ebook.com/
My very first exposure to e-books about ten years ago came with thid lovely program.
@Ariannah Can I download it to my computer?
Read the website and it will tell you how. It’s on windows, linux, and mac I think.
@Ariannah Thank you.
You’re very welcome

I’ve become obsessed.
Only when the paper one is too heavy to carry around or read in bed!
I have started my love of ebooks earlier this year
Love my Nook…have actually bought a few books from Barnes and Noble for my Nook that I have physical copies of.
I like both! Well I prefer “true” books, but ebooks are great to take on holidays.

Yes particularly for travel
I read both, depending on where I am and what I want to read. I can get many Kindle books free, so I prefer reading on Kindle. I also love the book summary apps when I want to read a book fast. (I read non-fiction mostly…)

What’s Wattpad? I’ve never heard of that.
