160 pages into The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, and already I’m..?????160 pages into The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, and already I’m….????? Melanie #review
Such a good read!! I had a hard time putting the book down.
I know! I’m impatiently waiting for my husband to take our 3 yr old to a bday party later (I am sooo skipping it, LOL!), so I can have a quiet house to read.
@Melanie , I totally get it! When I read the book, I would ask hubby what time he needed to leave to meet his guy friends for coffee or lunch and his response was: “Are you trying to get rid of me?” My answer was no just didn’t want him to miss his outing.?? Happy reading later!?
“Why yes honey, I am trying to rid of you….now, get out!” Thank you, I am looking forward to the peace and quiet.
@Melanie , can’t wait for you to share your thoughts on the book when you are done! ???

Such a fantastic book
It’s a brilliant book ! The story is really nice
I want to read something from the same genre , I’ve read ‘the book thief’ ,
‘all the light we cannot see ‘
and the nightingale ‘
Can someone recommend something similar ?
“The Black Isle” by Sandi Tan.It’s not in exactly the same vein, it’s kind of a mashup of genres and one of them is paranormal, along with Historical Fiction, but it does take place mainly during WWII, but along the South Pacific/Asian countries. It’s a book that has stuck with me and haunted me ever since I read it over a year ago, and parts of it are very hard to read (the Japanese were as cruel as the Nazis), but I certainly think it’s worth the read.
@Melanie sounds interesting .. thank you so much.. lemme try to find it at my bookstore
You’re welcome, let me know if you find it and like it.
The street sweeper by Elliot pearlman, brilliant book x
@Emma thank you for the suggestion
Best book I’ve read in a long time. It captured my attention the whole time. Have heard it’s being made into a movie. I don’t unduly reread books but I’ll definitely reread The Nightingale
I would love to see it done as a well made movie. I’ve pictured Lily James as Isabelle and Jessica Chastain as Vianne.
This story is filled with feeling. This is story that encourages the reader to have feelings.
If one is looking forward a light summer read there are a lot of romance books.
Loved that book!
Ok, got to pg. 258 and had to close the book, need a break for a few hours?
So where are you in the book? Glad you had some quiet time to read!
Well, trying not to give spoilers, but Vianne is helping Rachel and her kids and yeah, my heart hurts.
Awesome book but ???
Sobbing before bed, omg this book. Woke up once and started thinking about it before I fell back asleep, definitely a sign of a great story. About 120 pages left.
