If there is one kind of horror book that creeps me out the most, it’s demonic possession.

I would say Stephen King, but the whole world knows him lol. Otherwise there is one I did read that was really disturbing. A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay. I actually read it during a Readathon.

0
Jay

@Evan is a head full of ghosts any good, I really want to read that, it’s been on my T.R list for a while.

0
EvanQuestion author

I gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars meaning I just liked it. It’s up to you if you want to. If it scared Stephen King maybe it’ll scare you too.

What you picture in your head is scarier than what is on the screen.

1
Fay

@Evan I agree! My head scares me! ?

0
EvanQuestion author

I am not scared of Pennywise in the movie. In the book, I am.

0
Ros

Wdn’t limit myself to one genre but now until Xmas is when I particularly enjoy reading spooky gothic novels. Am a huge fan of Susan Hill but my all time fav is the novella, The Turn Of The Screw by Henry James. Next on my reading list is The Corset by Laura Purcell.

Now I’m gonna ask you all this: What scares you the most in a scary story?

0
Reply
Rebecca

I’m get scared easily so everything ?

0
EvanQuestion author

@Rebecca I am reading a 1156 page book right now called IT by Stephen King (819 pages in). It may be about a creepy clown, but what’s scarier is what the clown does. And I don’t mean just feeding off of innocent kids.

0
Rebecca

@Evan I’m starting that on the 1st and I’m already pooping myself thinking about starting it I hate clowns as it is

0
EvanQuestion author

But it’s not just a clown @Rebecca. It’s a creature in a form of what you deeply fear. It’s just often a clown because kids wouldn’t say no to candy and balloons.

0
Rebecca

Argh right I’m looking forward to reading IT but I’m scared at the same time as it will be my first horror book I read I tend to shy away from them because I’m a scared cat

0
EvanQuestion author

Lol believe me it scared me well. The movie doesn’t scare me but the book does, because what you picture in your head based on the pages is as frightening as what is on the screen.

0
Rebecca

@Evan I didn’t like the movie because it was kinda meh so I’m hoping the book will be a lot better as they usually are x

Connie

The book that affected me most in recent years was Don’t Look Back by Gregg Hurwitz. I have since read more of his and all are good.It is about a newly single mother who takes a vacation in the Mexican jungle. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.
