A lot of new authors self publish now and go the eBook route. A lot of publishers opt to put the book out in e-format also as opposed to the hardback or paperback. Established authors usually go with their publishers decision on the release format.
Well, I’m currently at book expo America, and this is the last day. The reason why not all book stores carries every genre, is because the book store owners are selective. We’ve had one book store owner come to our booth and this is mainly the reason why.
Unfortunately, she’s not the only one from what I gathered in the conversation. I know, it is selective and unfair, excluding other genres isn’t the way to go, i have a great deal of difficulty, as the odds are stacked against us Historical Fiction writers. We have it worse than any other genre out there.
In town I grew up in there was a bookstore run by an old guy who wore glasses thick as Coke bottles. But he was one of the nicest guys around, and would do his best to satisfy your reading requirements. Bought all my old Tom Swift books there.
That’s why I tend to shop online. It’s easier, I’m sure to find what I want and I do have to deal with people.
I’ll need a Visa card!
Cos unfortunately most people buy books online nowadays
Hmm, I believe so!

Where I live it’s hard to find a bookstore. Clear evidence of the dumbing down of this country.,
What’s the importance of a bookstore, if you can’t find what you are looking for!!

Libraries are still open. So back to the drawing board I guess!
Im a member of two different libraries, yet i never found the books Im looking for!
And the saga continues ?
yep, unfortunately!
The old fashioned bookstores would order books for you if they didn’t have it. And yes, I am a supporter of my local library.
They just say that they don’t have a budget to bring some books!
