Kathy Bates plays in it. Its wild! LOL! Makes me NEVER want to be an author! HAHA!

Erin

Yeah, I know that. Though, I am kind of hesitant, given how she treats James Caan’s character.

I’ve seen the movie. It made me laugh. I read the book and it scared the he’ll out of me.

@Sheila books are always scarier because you paint your own picture instead of a film director’s version

Sheila

@Christine the emotional state of the characters and their thoughts are a bonus too. In the movie, she breaks his feet of ankle or something. In the book, she put a board between his ankles and hit the ankle so the board would break both of them. It was frightening. In the movie, it was pathetic and silly. I laughed.

@Sheila Stephen King has always had a weird sense of humor. He’s very tongue in cheek it’s one of the things I love about him. He doesn’t spoil the tension but it’s just a very subtle thing kind of in between the lines.
I do agree there was a lot of silliness in the movie & I feel it helped make it scarier

One of the few King adaptations worth watching. Anybody other that Kathy Bates, and it could have been a catastrophe.
