I really dislike hardback books. They are awkward and heavy in my hands. I have diabetic nueropathy arthritis and carpal tunnel

Hard covers are pretty but they hurt my hands and wrists
If it is one I want to keep forever and I know it comes in hardcover then I get it in hardcover if it isn’t one I want to keep forever than it doesn’t matter

I prefer paperback because they’re lighter weight and easier to hold. (Neck injury affects my arm strength and grip)☺

Paperbacks are easier to read for me but I hate how easily the cover can get damaged ? I always buy paperback and regret it once I get one tiny dent in the cover

Yeah, they’re so much cheaper. Also if I already bought one book in an series as either hard or soft cover the rest HAVE to be the same

@Paul I am a little bit crazy but I love looking at the size of the hard covers and tackling but I don’t like taking them out of the house. The soft cover I take to the beach or to set outside
I love paper back because they are easier to handle and bring with ya almost anywhere
I used to love them because I could fit them in a purse but as I get older I find I seek out hard backs.

When I was younger I liked hardcover but now with fibromalygia and other stuff other aging stuff give me the paperback because its easier.

I prefer paperback to hardback simply because my hands are small, and a bit arthritic, and it’s easier to hold them. I do read hardbacks, however. Depends on the book, actually.
Hard backs because sometimes when I reread something in paper back they rip and break apart anyone have the same thing happen to you

I prefer paperbacks coz they’re cheaper, easier to store in a bookcase and lighter to carry around with me everywhere.
The hardbacks also feel kind of weird to me when I hold them.

Hardbacks look prettier on the shelf, but paperbacks are easier to read in bed and carry around with you.

I do. They’re cheaper and there’s no cover jacket to slide around. But I like hardcover for the sake of looking pretty on shelves.
Paperbacks weigh less and hurt less when you fall asleep holding them. 😉

For books I plan on reading once, I prefer paperbacks. I prefer hard covers for beautiful, reference books or manuals that I plan on keeping.

Paperbacks are cheaper and more portable.
Hardbacks are nice sometimes. But I like to look at them because otherwise it feels like I’m destroying the book. If I read them, they’re not perfect anymore.
If I’m giving it as a gift, I prefer to give a hardback. My personal preference is a paperback.
