Loving it!! I’m in the middle of it now. I wasn’t going to read it but then it was assigned for bookclub so then I “had” to but I’m so glad!! I have to remind myself this is a memoir, it really doesn’t read like one.

Being that it was the author’s own story added interest to it. It is the book this month in the book club I go to. It will Interesting to hear the comments.
Wonderful. However, I have friends who are uncomfortable and/or unfamiliar with people who live alternative lifestyles who absolutely could not stand this book.
@Betsy SPOILER abuse is abuse not an alternative life style.
@Pat I didn’t say it was. My friends were also appalled at the “living off the grid” life style and the reduced opportunities this gave the children.

Loved this book – when I started it I thought it was set in the 1930’s before I realised it was present time which made it all the more incredible .
