Six of Crows. All because Kaz Brekker is 1000 times hotter than the Darkling and Malyen Oretsev.

Shadow and Bones series HANDS DOWN…..unless you like SLOW BORING starts to books….That was Six of Crows to a ton of people, myself included. The end of the book is the only thing that saved it. It was painful to get through the first 250ish pages of Six of Crows. Shadow and Bone was amazing right from the start and continued to be a fun series from book to book. It truly is a matter of opinion but for me I would start with Shadow and Bone so you know that not everything Leigh Bardugo writes takes forever to get good

Shadow and Bone gripped me more but I enjoyed both series.

Shadow and Bone. Both are so, so different. To me, SOB reads like a normal fictional tale with a strong plot and lots of action. SOC, has a plot, but it’s interrupted by flashbacks in characterizations— so to me, SOC is more about characterization whereas, SOB is more about the story.

Six of Crows. I liked Alina, Nikolai, and the Darkling (not a Darkling supporter but he was a great antagonist). LOATHED Mal, like really despised him. I thus did not appreciate Ruin and Rising very much (that. ending.). SoC was an improvement in every way.

Ooh, I haven’t read Shadow and Bone yet, but I really really enjoyed Six of Crows. The cast is fantastic and there’s so much suspense in the plot. But there’s moments where you can’t help but smile. If you read Six of Crows, its sequel is a must-read!

Six of Crows… hands down. But it’s a total different tone. Six of Crows was fast paced heist whereas Shadow and Bone was slower and more romance. I read Six of Crows first. I disagree with the others who say you have to read Grisha first in order to understand it. It was very easy to follow
