Read the book first. Books are always better than the movies.

Neither, because I never go to the movies. The last few I saw were some of Grshams and the books were always better.

Movie first. The books are always so much better and if I read them first I am usually disappointed in the movie. Good example is Cedar Cove series.
Depends: I read The Shack years ago and can’t wait til the movie is out. Watched North & South then read the books.

I can’t watch the movie first because it messes up my ability to come up with all the characters and settings in my own head. I actually will sometimes not read a book simply because I’ve seen the PREVIEWS for a movie and I know what actors they selected to play the roles. It completely ruins my reading experience 🙁
I’ve been under strict orders to NOT read the books until after we’ve seen the movies because I complain very loudly about how they mess up the story. And he can’t enjoy the movie because of it.

Always read the book first. Not everything that happens in the book appears in the movie. And….a movie producer will sometimes change the storyline which is not always the same as the book.
