Was kind of slow and meandering, but I just loved Ove so I stuck with it until the end. No regrets. ?

You’re thinking of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I enjoyed that more than I thought I would.

@Betty, that’s what I call a sweet little story, but not a lot more.

I thought it was cute! It made me miss my grandfather quite a bit but it was flat out adorable. And it had me giggling in some places.

It started slow for me. I questioned why I was even reading about this grouchy old man. But then something wonderful happened, I began to see from glimpses of the past, why he is the way he is. I began to fall in love with Ove. By the end I was distraught. My family kept looking at me funny as I bawled like a baby. Such a wonderful story. Highly recommend.

I too loved it. After you read it, rent and watch the movie. It is subtitled, but you won’t even realize you are reading after the first 5 minutes.

I had heard ahead of time that it was really funny but I couldn’t figure out why Ove’s escapades were funny. But by the end I was laughing with the rest of my friends.

I bought it because of all the rave reviews. I really loved it. Certain parts caught me by surprise and hit me straight in the heart and I really, really cried. I will read more books by this author; you get the feeling he’s very sensisitive, understands human nature and will never judge a book by its cover.

Very conflicted on it. Read 2/3s of it, struggled, and finally gave it to Project Learn. I guess there are some books for some people and this wasn’t for me.
