I know. I love book to movie adaptions. I know they change stuff and I can bitch about it. But I do love them?. (Not all. I hate Miss Peregrine’s movie adaption)

1
Sofia

The Hobbit is my favorite.

David

personally while I love the Hobbit the book, I thought it was a terrible translation to the big screen, so much added that didn’t occur in the book, changing the plot somewhat. I was very disappointed.

1
Beth

There was a lot added unnecessarily BUT I think the majority of the story was there and it was detailed. I loved it.

0
Alice

David, they didn’t just change the plot “somewhat.” They changed it a lot. Azog is supposed to be very much dead according to the appendices in The Lord of the Rings. I love the movies anyway.

2

@Keirston Yes, the book is really good! The movie is really good too. They changed a few things from the book but overall it was done well.

I think the Hunger Games (all of the books/movies). Yes, they changed a few things, but that’s always going to happen

3

HanieQuestion author

I love some that are different from the books but others are not as interesting.

1
Haddie

Yes, I agree with that. Another good one is The Martian, but I did not read that book. Just told it was as good, if not better than the book

1
Alice

I know they weren’t the most accurate, but I love the Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit (which is extremely inaccurate). I also really enjoy The Martian.

The Princess Bride. I read it to my son when he was little, and I remember it being almost word for word like the book. Plus, Rob Reiner nailed it.

I agree! The few changes that Reiner made were definitely great (like the Pits of Despair being originally the Zoo of Death, or the shrieking eels being sharks).
